If you are a snowbird who is still away for the season and you are on the list to receive absentee ballots, but have not received one for the May Special Election, please contact our office directly. Your temporary address needs to be shared with us each election year if you will be away during any election. Ballots are not forwardable mail. We do not always have contact information to contact you directly when ballots are returned to us as undeliverable.

Absentee Voters:

Please be aware that you will need to inform us of your mailing address if you will be away during any elections. Ballots are not forwardable mail, and if you are a snowbird, military, or an overseas absentee voter, or if you are away for any other reason, you will need to update your mailing address prior to these elections. This will ensure the arrival of your ballot in a timely manner.

Or by visiting the Michigan Voter Information Center at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/AVApplication/Index to complete an application to include your accurate information.

Township Request for Bids-
Lawn Care Services

L'Anse Township is now accepting sealed bids for lawn care and mowing services for the 2026 season (May-Oct).

Services will include mowing, trimming and general lawn maintenance for Township properties, including (but not limited to) parks, cemeteries and other Township grounds. Contact L'Anse Township for more information on properties.

Bid Requirements:
*Must provide proof of liability insurance
*Must supply own equipment
*Experience with commercial or municipal mowing preferred
*References may be requested

Bids must include:

*Pricing for the full season and description of services to be provided

Deadline for submissions:
April 8th, 2026

Voters:

Please be aware that this is the first year most Townships will not be sending absentee voter applications prior to elections. If you applied to be on the new “Permanent Ballot List” in 2024, you will be mailed absentee ballots for each election for which you are eligible without any more steps. If you are currently on this list, please be sure to update your temporary mailing address with your local clerk if you will be away for any upcoming elections.

ALL registered voters may apply for absentee ballots for each eligible election, or request to be put on the “Permanent Ballot List” to automatically receive ballots for all eligible future elections. You can do this online at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/AVApplication/Index or by requesting an application from your local clerk.
