The North Lakes Fire & Rescue Department’s Facebook fan page was created by the department to facilitate the exchange of information with the public at large. To promote such exchange the department encourages and welcomes postings and comments from the general public about issues related to fire protection and public safety within the communities we serve. With that

said, however, the North Lakes Fire & Rescue Department reserves the right to regulate the content of, and where necessary delete completely, any objectionable entry that appears on its fan page. The North Lakes Fire & Rescue Department is responsible for monitoring all postings to its page and may take appropriate action whenever necessary, and at its sole discretion, to protect other fan page visitors from inappropriate or otherwise harmful information and links. To that end, the North Lakes Fire & Rescue Department will remove as soon as feasible any posting that involves:

• Advertisements of any kind.

• Profane language or content.

• Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.

Some people have been asking us about how they can get a fire department T-shirt. The members selected this design, which they hope you will like.

We use the proceeds in various ways such as donating to community members in need and purchasing equipment for the fire department that is not attainable through the regular budget process.

Today we assisted National Guard exercises at Loring along with other local fire departments.

Thank you to Dep Chief Derrick Ouellette, FF Richard Higley, FF James Jalbert, FF Ervin Levesque, FF Brent McKeen, FF Dell Brisette and FF Jacob McDougal for taking time off to pitch in and help the region.

This was especially fun for us, as we brought Tanker 14 back to Loring for a day of work. We purchased this truck years ago from Loring where it served during the Air Force years. - Chief Woods

For those who may be curious....we finally got our LUPC permit yesterday for work on the new fire station in Sinclair.

Our team had a busy night tonight!

It took turns rotating between pump practice, and changing over our snowmobile rescue boggan to an ATVrescue boggan.

It takes practice to become proficient with pumping different types of apparatus, and it takes Maintenance to keep our Rescue equipment up to speed in case of an emergency.

I appreciate everybody coming out and working when we all know they would’ve enjoyed a nice night with their family. They sacrifice and so does this their family to ensure the safety of our citizens!

Please remember that parking is not allowed at our fire station (the old DOT garage in Stockholm) due to so many issues with people blocking the way for emergency apparatus.

That said, we know people are looking for places to access ATV trails, especially those from the north where trails are still closed.

Stockholm has a place just down the street that is exactly for this purpose. They also have walking trails there too . Everything in town is access way for atv also. So you park and ride up the road to hit the trail just above the fire station.

Congratulations to all those who finished their Basic Fire School today wrapping it all up with live burns.

Thank you to the Chiefs who trusted us and sent their firefighters to us for this important training. Remember, this is just the start and not the end, the more you train the safer both you and your communities are!

Last weekend for the basic fire school for this year. The students are starting to really show their skills now and make good progress.

Live burns tomorrow will complete their requirement for this course and put them on the right path to help their communities and set them up for further education.
