It’s that time of year again, where we bring our engines to Sinclair boat landing to perform annual pump testing. This requirement helps us to ensure that all of our equipment is in working order when it is needed. It stresses the pumps and the trucks to ensure everything flows correctly.

If all goes well, we will only be in the way for a few more hours. We just wanted people to know what we were doing in case they were curious.

Sharing with everybody, the video that I showed at our Dept. recognition night. Please understand that I am by no means a professional photographer or video person so I hope you forgive a few of the photos being a little bit blurry. - Chief Woods

On Saturday, August 22 the county paused to thank and recognize our volunteers for everything that they do for our district. We see the great things they do everyday, and understand that they stand ready to help people on their worst day while working to save tax dollars where ever they can.

Special recognition this year went to the top three members attendance - James Jalbert, Nathan Baron and Alexis Violette.

The corporation also decided to surprise us with recognition for 25 years of donating yearly pump testing to Roy Woods, and they took me off guard as well with a personalized gift.

We also appreciated that County Commissioners Danny Devoe and Paul Underwood joined us along with County Administrator Justin Tibbets.

I am extremely grateful for each one of these men and women for everything they do all year long for our citizens, the county and for me. - Chief Woods
