This is coming a bit late due to how hectic January has been thus far but without further ado we would like to announce Lt Carolina Herrera as Farsider of the Quarter for Q1 of FY25 (the months of October - December of 2024)
This is our first time doing this so to fill everyone in, we wanted to choose one person a quarter that embodies the Farsider spirit, to bring pride to our identity as a squadron.
Here is what Lt Herrera’s flight commander had to say,
“During the 1st Quarter, Lt Herrera has been paramount to the Squadron’s success. As the primary squadron scheduler, she has put in countless hours to ensuring the 490th Missile Squadron is able to man the required number of Launch Control Centers enabling over 10,000 490th MS alert hours in the 1st Quarter. She has also worked tirelessly to establish a scheduling tempo for the new alert construct, working around her alert schedule and trainer rides to ensure the squadron is able to have transparency and set expectations around alert moving forward. In her primary duty, she guided her Deputy through the Mission Lead upgrade process and posted to the Alternate Command Post for the first time. While at the ACP, she led the wing to a flawless alert week with no major field errors. All of these accomplishments have given outstanding example of what it means to be a Farsider!”
