NEWS RELEASE: MAN SENTENCED TO 42-84 YEARS IN PRISON FOR CHILD R**E CONVICTIONS

The Chester County District Attorney’s Office announces that on Friday, March 28, 2025, Jose Ramirez-Cantarero, 38, was sentenced to 42–84 years in state prison for sexually abusing a child. Chester County Court of Common Pleas Judge Bret M. Binder imposed the statutory maximum sentence on the two most serious convictions—meaning it was longest term of imprisonment for those offenses allowed by law.

District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said, “Judge Binder justly put this Defendant in prison for the rest of his life. The Chester County DA’s Office prioritizes protecting children from abuse and will continue to advocate for sentences like this to keep our children safe.”

Evidence presented at trial in March of 2024 established that the Defendant repeatedly sexually abused the child victim starting in late 2019, when the victim was only eight years old. Testimony revealed that the Defendant continued to inappropriately touch the victim when they were alone and r***d the victim approximately sixteen times.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Zachary Yurick. The East Whiteland Township Police Department investigated this case with assistance from the Chester County Detectives. And please remember, if you have concerns about the safety of a child, say something. Call 911 and call Childline at 1-800-932-0313.
