I am excited, proud, grateful and honored to have received endorsements from the three major law enforcement organizations in Chester County— the Pennsylvania State Police Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 66, the Chester County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 11, and the Chester County Police Chiefs Association.

When I first came to the DA’s office 17 years ago, I was surprised to learn that Chester County has over 40 separate municipal police departments. In addition, we are served and protected by the Pennsylvania State Police. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with all of these agencies on cases both big and small. While not every conversation is easy and we don’t always agree, I have been continually impressed by the professionalism, dedication, compassion and humor of our “men and women in blue.” Together we’ve had countless late night phone conversations talking through those “situations” that only seem to come up when most of the world is sleeping; and we’ve spent similar late nights pacing the courthouse together waiting for jury verdicts. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing almost every inch of Chester County from the passenger seat of a police car as we’ve gone together to visit crime scenes and to the homes of our victims and witnesses. I have always been impressed with how well these officers know and care about their communities.

I’ve often joked that police officers and prosecutors have a love-hate relationship. We certainly demand an awful lot of each other. Neither of us can succeed without the hard work and effort of the other. That is why I have always done my best to uphold my end of this relationship — to make sure that I have never been out worked, or out prepared. I am humbled and grateful that my efforts have not gone unnoticed.

To the members of Lodge 11, Lodge 66 and the Chiefs Association — a huge heartfelt thanks. The respect is mutual.

This homemade magnet has been sticking to the wall of my office at the District Attorney’s Office every day for the past seventeen years. I consider it my job description. It is my mantra, and the touchstone I return to time and time again. If I am fortunate enough to be elected Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, I promise I will bring it with me.

The primary is tomorrow, May 21! I am hoping you will come out and vote for me, and I am hoping you will convince your friends and family to as well. I am #3 on both ballots. Every vote counts!
