Liberia, the 1825 Manassas house, is a touchstone to our nation’s history. It was the largest slave-holding plantation in Prince William County before the Civil War. It served as Confederate and Union headquarters during the Civil War, and hosted President Abraham Lincoln in 1862. It was a successful dairy farm and family home in the post-war years. Much of the house has been restored, including i

ts Civil War graffiti, and work on its grounds continue. The house is open for special events and tours and the grounds are open for passive recreation from sunup to sundown.
