The Waterson “Lake Quarry” has been given their TDEC permit.

Please keep in mind - this permit does nothing- as the land this project is sitting on is not zoned for mining/quarrying.

If they move forward it will be ILLEGALLY ZONED and TDEC has stated numerous times that their permit does not supersede local zoning.

It’s up to the county to decide if they will be enforcing their zoning to prevent this moving forward.

And it’s up to the CITIZENS to hold everyone accountable. Our local government is aware of the situation already, just document and report to them if you see any activity related to this project. 😉

Notification of AI Data Center No Proposal

ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tenn. - Arnold Air Force Base leadership has been notified by the Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) that potential Enhanced Use Lease offerors will not be submitting proposals for Arnold AFB parcels for an AI Data Center.

This decision was based on responses they received from the companies who participated in their multi-installation source selection process.

The official deadline to submit such proposals was 29 May.

Arnold AFB was one of many bases that was being considered. The Air Force offered land for AI Data Center development at five installations: Arnold AFB, Tenn., Edwards AFB, Calif., Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JBMDL), N.J., Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., and/or Robins AFB, Ga. The Air Force selected these installations based on market analysis, infrastructure availability, and strategic importance.

Many have been mentioning and tagging us in information regarding the Warren County Data Center. We have been following this since we first heard, this does seem like a real and reasonable threat and worth looking into. We are sharing this for those looking for more information to help our neighboring county.

Warren First PRESS RELEASE

05/30/2026

There has been a lot of fear mongering lately regarding the Arnold Force Data Center. Which is not something we want any part of.

There is something that we want you to keep in mind —there are five locations that are currently being considered with Arnold Air Force Base being one of them.

And from our understanding only one of these locations will be chosen.

According to the Arnold Air force website, the decision will largely be based on infrastructure, space, and needs. After reviewing many of the other properties, it seems obvious to us that there are actually better options than Coffee County. This is a largely why our page hasn’t focused on this topic.

What we know now is that a decision regarding Arnold Air Force Base will be made sometime this week. At this point, it’s premature to be panicking.

Stay aware, research, read, share information, and learn.

But stay focused on facts. The fact is at this moment, there is only a 20% chance that Arnold Air Force Base will be chosen to move forward in the process.

This week’s announcement will likely let us know if this percentage rises or dissipates.

If you do want to follow this topic a little closer and read articles and information we appreciate the work that this page has done.

They have done a good job sounding the alarm.

Who is funding growth in Coffee County?

We came across this flyer for a recent Home Builders Association of Central Tennessee PAC fundraiser held in Manchester. Keep in mind, the purpose of a PAC (political action committee) is to fund candidates to run and support policies that benefit the homebuilders association.

The event was advertised as supporting “Responsible Growth in Central TN” and lists several development-related companies as sponsors. All of whom, do not support ‘responsible growth’ through their monetary donations and support, as we see it anyways.

There is nothing improper about developers participating in the political process. In fact, every stakeholder has a right to advocate for their interests.

However, citizens also have a right to understand who is funding political activity, who is attending these events, and how those relationships may influence future conversations about zoning, development, infrastructure, and land use.

As Coffee County continues discussing growth, data centers, farmland preservation, housing, infrastructure, and zoning regulations, transparency matters.

Some questions worth asking:

• Which local elected officials, candidates, or appointees attended?
• Which local campaigns has this PAC supported?
• What specific policies does the PAC advocate for?
• How do those priorities align or conflict with the priorities of Coffee County residents?
• What does “responsible growth” mean to developers, and what does it mean to the families who live here
• And WHY do these clearly pro- rural growth/development folks keep trying to take our “responsible growth” phrase! 😂

We don’t expect an answer for that last question, but as we have said over and over growth isn’t inherently good or bad. The details matter.

An informed community asks questions, follows the facts, notices the names on the flyers, and stays engaged.

What are your thoughts?

Thank you Dennis Hunt Coffee County Mayor for presenting this information publicly.

As promised, here is the moratorium resolution that your elected county commissioners will be voting on June 09, 2026. Also, a big shout out to our county attorney, Mark Williams, for getting this prepared in a timely manner.

Donna Toney, Registrar of Deeds states in Budget and Finance meeting moments ago that “we are set to implement AI” into software program. This will allow you to ask it to pull all properties owned by individuals and find them immediately.

Given that we are all just now waking up to the impact that AI has or will have over our lives, we question if giving Coffee County data over to AI willingly via software is the right move. She mentions in her speech that she has put off on hiring someone to fill this position due to the implementation of AI software and says she may not need to.

To be clear we aren’t anti AI, but we are skeptical about giving over every single property owners name, address, deed information to ONE MORE software program. Given the feedback we have had recently about data centers and AI, it seems that a lot are concerned about this. Especially for it to be implemented into a governmental software for the Deeds office.

It truly may be helpful and productive and a positive needed change, we aren’t sure yet, but, at the very least citizens should know if this is being implemented. Listen for yourself, ask questions, and research the program and decide for yourself how you feel about it.
