Marietta author Richard "Dick" McBain will join us to talk about his book, "A Reluctant Warrior's Vietnam Combat Memories." This is a true story of his being drafted out of college and being assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam in jungle combat for a year.

His talk will be accompanied by a presentation of many of his war pictures. Mr. McBain hopes to help attendees learn of the horrors of the Vietnam war, and what occurred in America during the Vietnam War era.

Mr. McBain will have copies of his memoir for purchase.

Through the Books2Keep initiative, our Bookmobile gave out roughly 5,800 free books to kids, teens, and adults across the county at 48 stops at local parks, apartment communities, and events this summer!

This incredible milestone would not be possible without the generous support of our community partners and donors. Huge thanks go out to John McLaughlin at Kell High School for coordinating school donations, Sawyer Road Elementary, and all the thoughtful library patrons who dropped off books to give them a second life.

Seeing so many families find their next favorite read was the absolute highlight of our summer!
