Step outside the classroom and into history for a one-of-a-kind K–12 professional development experience at the Sultana Disaster Museum in partnership with Economics Arkansas!

Join us at the NEW Sultana Disaster Museum as we explore the 1865 explosion and the economic decisions behind it. Economics Program Coordinator Lisa Byrum will connect transportation, risk & incentives to real decision-making applications you can take back with you.

The event will also feature presentations by Jerry Potter, author of "The Sultana Tragedy" and Michael Shoulders, author of "Crossing the Deadline" and "N is for the Natural State," among other works commonly used in elementary classrooms.

To anyone that received the robocall and text about summer school @ MJHS:

“An email was sent Friday afternoon to all 9th grade students who needed summer school. Parents were also emailed, if we had an email address on file. The email was from [email protected]

The robo call system was supposed to be a 2nd form of outreach and only call those who emails were sent to, but there was as glitch. Unfortunately, we are without power, so our phones have been down all morning.”

Congratulations to Marion High School’s Class of 2026!!! You did it!! 🎓💙❤️ it was a privilege to witness such a special moment, and a true blessing to see some of my ACT kids in the limelight 🥹 now dream big dreams, and go do big things!!

Here’s a quick recap from the April 16th Marion School Board meeting 💙❤️ big community question: should the Marion School District continue to offer Driver’s Ed class? Facts: enrollment is down, 3 out of 8 major insurance companies no longer offer a discount for taking the class, and the class is a constant logistical nightmare. Thoughts? Decision to be made by the Board in the future.
