‼️ A BIG PSA: Someone took it upon themselves to tape ant poison inside the LFL & while I appreciate their concern, the fact is:

🐜 THE ANTS ARE HARMLESS. ☠️ POISON IS NOT.

Also: I was aware they were going in (they're huge readers) and it is a non-issue for me. Please do not take it upon yourself to add POISON to this or any other LFL. Not cool at all.

‼️ PLEASE do not put dryer sheets in MY library! I have an extreme chemical sensitivity & severe reaction to those

A huge thank you to author for gifting two copies of Where the Heart Meets the Sea for me to share!

Have you read this amazing book yet?

This was my first 5 ⭐️ read of 2026 and I cannot stop recommending it! It is so atmospheric and just a lovely story. (You can read my review on Goodreads or Amazon)

I passed my copy along to my niece, who then passed it to Gram. Both loved it as much as me.

➡️ That arc copy is now on the shelf of Gram's Garden Little Free Library.

About the book:
An emotionally rich love story with themes of lost and found family in a stunning Norwegian island setting.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ella Nilsen has never known her parents—or even how her mother died. Raised by her emotionally distant Norwegian grandmother, Hilda, Ella has long accepted that the topic of her parents is off-limits. When Hilda passes away, Ella is shocked to find that her inheritance includes a summer cottage perched above the sea in a place called Lyngør, a remote island in Norway. To sell it, she’ll have to visit the cottage and take stock of what’s there—and maybe Lyngør holds the key to her mother’s mysterious passing, if she can get the locals to talk.

For as long as he can remember, Leif Arnesen, a thirty-four-year-old boatbuilder in Lyngør, has carried grief and shame from his father’s death, an accident that upended their small community. When Ella breezes into Lyngør looking for answers, her very presence stirs up old ghosts and earns her the villagers’ suspicions. As sparks begin to fly between Leif and Ella and their relationship blossoms quickly, everything Leif knows to be true threatens to capsize.

Fighting For Justice: Alice Piper Speaks Up introduces young readers to this real-life hero of civil rights who fought against school segregation & social injustice.

Many know the story of Ruby Bridges, but few have heard of young Alice Piper, a Native Nuwuvi (Paiute) teen in California. Alice dreamed of attending public school, but she and other Natives were denied that right by the school board. This refusal led to a court case, Alice Piper v. Big Pine School District, which went to trial in February 1924.

📚 💼 📚 💼 📚

Alice Piper Speaks Up is a thought-provoking book for young readers. Biographical in nature with ample historical documents, timelines & vocabulary word definitions it also has illustrations alongside poetic passages. The contrast between these two styles creates a more complete picture than either would alone.

This is an important story, perfect for classrooms and home libraries. With an abundance of questions and vocabulary words teachers would easily be able to create lesson plans for their students. Parents could utilize the book to foster conversations about social injustice, equality and the importance of taking a stand for equal rights.

In a time when certain voices and identities are under attack the Fighting For Justice series is not simply relevant, it's essential reading.

Thank you to and for the gifted copy of Alice Piper Speaks Up.

A beautifully illustrated tale within a tale, reminiscent of oral stories passed down through generations, The Sweetest of Lemons evokes a true sense of place, that of Iran.

With a distinctive storytelling voice and colorful artwork with a strong Persian influence one can easily imagine themselves sitting alongside Abbas as his story unfolds or riding along in the car on the way to grandfather's oasis.

🍋✨️🍋✨️🍋✨️🍋

About this book:

This story-within-a-story brings a young boy in a hot car ride across the desert. The destination is an oasis, where gardens perfume the air, and tales are lovingly told. Here is the gate to a magical world full of princesses, valiant brothers, dangerous giants, and one perfect, enchanted lemon. Will any of the brothers be able to foil the giant, retrieve the lemon, and free the princess?

In the warm embrace of Nayeri’s storytelling, readers will lean into the enchantment until the story’s end.

Rahele Jhompeur Bell creates the two gorgeous visual strands of the tale–one inspired by the frames and jewel-like colors of Persian miniatures, the other a tender, richly textured rendering of a contemporary family.

Together, the author and artist cast a delicious spell that, like the singular lemon at the heart of the story, is so sweet it can cure sadness itself.

✨️ Suspenseful page turners
✨️ Far reaching consequences
✨️ Family secrets
✨️ Atmospheric settings
✨️ Complex female characters

About this book:
1994. In the myth-riddled woods of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, sixteen-year-old Annabelle Riley’s twin sister, Sabrina, has been having an affair with a mysterious older man, and Annabelle is determined to uncover what’s going on. Then, inexplicably, both sisters disappear.

In this same town years later, newly instated Police Chief Callie Hauser makes an arrest that unexpectedly resurrects details from a heartbreaking cold case. As she digs deeper, the past and the present collide, challenging everything Callie believes about right and wrong, about who she is, and about the town she’s always called home.

A propulsive mystery as incisive as it is forgiving, Heather bears a visceral reminder that the truth of a woman’s life is often complicated and unknowable—to those on the outside, and sometimes even to herself.

Little Free Library Book Drop & Sunday Shelfie

A bunch of children's books found new readers last week, but there are still plenty of fun reads for kids on the Pre-K-Middle Grade shelf so I'm waiting a bit to add more.

Book Drops to the YA-Adult Shelf:

✨️ Fast and Fastidious- I read this Pride and Prejudice meets the Fast and the Furious historical fiction & wanted to give someone else a chance to read it too. The pacing is a bit slow, but the plotline is solid with a brilliant FMC & likable MMC.

✨️ Clock Dance- Haven't read this but looks like a great beach read!

✨️ Silver Lady - A historical romance with an irresistible cover!

➡️ Swipe to see the full Sunday Shelfie & all the books currently on the Little Free Library shelves

➡️ The door is now the Trinket Exchange (swipe to see it) so bookmarks and stickers have been moved next to the board books bin 📚

The Trinket Exchange has expanded!

I've added another pre-stocked box plus additional shelf bins. Instead of one door shelf for trinket swapping, we now have three!

Thank you to whoever left the adorable knitted buddy on the shelf! I LOVED finding that this morning ❤️🥳

I made a few backpack/purse charms, beaded earrings, and friendship bracelets for the Exchange. Plus added more tiny critters and a few enameled pins

Swipe to get a peek at those.

➡️ The stickers and bookmarks are now located next to the board books bin on the bottom of the Little Free Library

Stop by to take a book, leave a book and swap some trinkets!
