Martinez Area CERT

Martinez Area CERT CERT is about disaster readiness, people helping people, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number.

Disasters can strike at any time and being prepared for these and other unexpected events is critical to saving lives. Each one of us has a responsibility to understand the risk natural and man-made disasters pose to our communities, and to recognize we each have a role in preparing for these events. We have a duty to build a Culture of Preparedness in which our neighbors, families and friends are ready for any disaster event, and to make our communities safer, stronger, and better prepared.

As wildfires continue to impact communities across the western U.S., know where you’ll go if told to evacuate. Pick a safe destination and map multiple routes. Check your local emergency management sites for wildfire evacuation info. Having a plan can save time and lives!

Virtual Wildfire Evacuation Drill: July 11, 2026

The City of Martinez will conduct a virtual evacuation drill on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 9:00–10:00 AM. This exercise will simulate a wildfire emergency affecting neighborhoods near/in downtown or with increased fire danger (evacuation zones MAR‑001, MAR‑002, and MAR‑003), with mock Martinez Alerts messages sent to registered users in those zones. Messages will be clearly marked as drill‑related.

The drill supports community readiness and helps residents review their evacuation plans while first responders conduct a Unified Command training exercise.

Be sure you’re signed up for Martinez Alerts to receive drill messages on July 11th and actual emergency notifications every day: www.martinezalerts.com.
