Today was an exciting day for Berkeley County as we officially announced plans for a new YMCA facility in Martinsburg in partnership with WVU Medicine!

This incredible project represents a $35 million investment in the future of our community and will bring a 65,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility to the campus of WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center. Once complete, it is expected to serve more than 12,000 people each year and welcome over 1,000 visitors every day.

The first phase will include a gymnasium, indoor track, wellness center, group exercise classrooms, lap pool, recreation pool, youth and community spaces, and a child development center that will provide care for approximately 120 children. This investment will strengthen opportunities for healthy living, youth development, family support, and community engagement for generations to come.

I was also proud to secure $2 million for this project through a supplemental appropriation from the state's General Revenue surplus budget. Investing in projects like this is an investment in the health, well-being, and future of our community, and I was honored to help make this vision a reality.

Projects like this don't happen without strong partnerships. Thank you to WVU Medicine, the YMCA, the Berkeley County Commission, the Martinsburg City Council, and the Berkeley County Development Authority for their shared vision, leadership, and commitment to bringing this transformational project to Berkeley County.

This is exactly the kind of investment that keeps Berkeley County moving forward. I'm proud to support efforts that improve quality of life, expand access to childcare and wellness resources, and continue making our community one of the best places in West Virginia to live, work, and raise a family.

The future is bright, and today's announcement is another exciting step forward for Martinsburg and Berkeley County!

Common sense won today!

Today's U.S. Supreme Court decision is a major victory for fairness in girls' and women's sports. By upholding West Virginia's Save Women's Sports Act, the Court affirmed that states have the authority to protect opportunities for female athletes and preserve the integrity of women's competition.

As a father to a little girl, I was proud to vote for this legislation because I believe every girl deserves a level playing field and the opportunity to compete on equal terms. Protecting women's sports has never been about politics—it's about fairness, safety, and preserving the opportunities generations of women have fought to earn.

I will continue standing up for West Virginia's students, families, and athletes, and I remain committed to protecting girls' and women's sports.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to uphold West Virginia and Idaho laws requiring student-athletes to compete based on biological s*x at birth.

I am proud to support Senate President Randy Smith for re-election as President of the West Virginia Senate.

For the past two years, I have been honored to serve as Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee on President Smith's leadership team. I have seen firsthand his commitment to conservative principles, fiscal responsibility, and putting the people of West Virginia first.

Randy Smith is a proven conservative leader who has helped guide the Senate through important decisions while maintaining a focus on accountability and common-sense governance.

West Virginia has benefited from President Smith's experience, vision, and dedication to public service. I believe now is the time for our Republican Senate Caucus to unite behind President Smith so we can continue moving our state forward.

I am deeply honored and humbled by the overwhelming support shown to me by the voters of Berkeley and Jefferson Counties. Thank you for placing your trust and confidence in me once again to serve as your State Senator for the 16th District.

Over the past four years, we have worked together to deliver real results for the Eastern Panhandle — fighting for tax relief, investing in infrastructure, supporting law enforcement and first responders, strengthening our schools, and ensuring our region has a strong voice in Charleston. But our work is far from finished.

As we move forward, I remain committed to building a stronger future for our community by continuing to focus on economic growth, better roads and infrastructure, public safety, educational opportunity, and keeping West Virginia a place where families can thrive for generations to come.

Serving the people of Berkeley and Jefferson Counties has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I will continue to work tirelessly every single day to represent our values, protect our conservative principles, and deliver meaningful results for the people of the Eastern Panhandle.

Thank you again for your support, your encouragement, and your faith in our campaign. I am excited for what lies ahead, and I look forward to continuing this work together.

God bless you all, and God bless West Virginia!

Tomorrow is Election Day — Tuesday, May 12!

Polls will be open from 6:30AM to 7:30PM across West Virginia.

Summer and I will be there to vote, with Berkeley and Vandalia in tow! Both she and I remember going to the polls with our parents and grandparents as children, and we love the tradition of going as a family.

Serving as your State Senator for the last four years has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Together, we’ve accomplished so much for Berkeley and Jefferson Counties — from protecting the lives of the unborn, to fighting for tax relief and supporting our first responders, to investing in infrastructure, economic development, and creating more opportunities for our communities and families.

But there is still more work to be done. I remain committed to being a strong conservative voice for the Eastern Panhandle and continuing to deliver real results for the people I’m honored to represent.

Tomorrow, I humbly ask for your vote so we can keep moving our region and our state forward together.

Please make a plan to vote tomorrow, May 12, and encourage your friends and family to do the same!

It was great to join the Bolivar-Harpers Ferry Public Library this morning for the unveiling of their new covered porch — an exciting addition that will help expand opportunities for learning, connection, and community engagement right here in the Eastern Panhandle.

This new outdoor space will provide a safe and welcoming place for teens after school, a place for storytimes and community programs, and creates a gathering place for families and neighbors to connect.

I was proud to work alongside Senator Patricia Rucker to help secure LEDA funding for this important project and continue investment in community spaces that make a real difference for local families.

The Bolivar-Harpers Ferry Public Library continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community — offering educational resources, tutoring, workforce tools, meeting space, technology access, and countless services that help residents thrive.

I’m grateful for the dedicated library staff, volunteers, and community leaders who continue investing in spaces that strengthen our region and improve quality of life for everyone!
