Want to make a difference this month? Join us for meal prep!

Southside Survivor Response Center volunteers at the Salvation Army on the second Wednesday of every month at 8 AM to help prepare meals for the community.

Volunteering is a simple but powerful way to support neighbors in need while building stronger community connections.

This opportunity is open to the public, and extra helping hands are always appreciated. To learn more or get involved, call 1-877-WE-HELP-6.

September 5 is the International Day of Charity. Around here, charity often looks like a community keeping support within reach for the people who need it.

Every contribution helps Southside Survivor Response Center (SSRC) continue providing emergency shelter, advocacy, safety planning, medical accompaniment, crisis intervention, and community education. One supporter may donate supplies, another may volunteer their time, and another may simply share our 24/7 hotline with someone who needs confidential help.

If you've been looking for one practical way to give back this month, we'd love to have you with us.

To volunteer or give, call us at 1-877-WE-HELP6 (1-877-934-3576)

September 4 is National Food Bank Day, and it's a good moment to share how food donations help the families we serve. A safe place also needs the everyday essentials that help people feel cared for.

While Southside Survivor Response Center (SSRC) isn't a food bank, we accept donated food and share it with the individuals and families staying in our emergency shelter. Items like shelf-stable meals, snacks, breakfast foods, bottled water, and family-friendly groceries can bring comfort during a difficult season, depending on our current needs.

If you'd like to give, please reach out first so we can share an updated wish list and drop-off instructions.

Call 1-877-WE-HELP6 (1-877-934-3576) before dropping off food donations.

Thank you.

🔹Emergency shelter support
🔹Safety planning
🔹911 cell phones
🔹Assurance calls and wellness checks
🔹Advocacy and crisis intervention

If someone does not answer an assurance call, our team follows up to help ensure their well-being and safety. No one should have to face crisis situations alone.
