The Aberdeen-Matawan CERT team assisted Matawan Borough Council along with the Aberdeen Township council to distribute 600 meal at the Matawan Community Center to the community. It was so nice to see both councils to come and work together for a great event. Food was provided by Di Dibari’s and La Madonna two fine restaurants.

The Cert team got called out at 7:30 pm tonight for a missing elderly male in Alantic Highlands. He was last seen on the Henrey Hudson trail. Around 9:45pm a resident spotted someone sitting in their car he got cold and was trying to warm up. Glad it had a happy ending. A special thanks to my CERT team for coming out for the search.

Attention all Aberdeen residence, the remnants of hurricane Delta are likely to affect the region late this weekend and into early next week. There is the potential for 1 to 3 inches of rainfall over most of our area from late Sunday to early Tuesday. Because of recent dry weather and because the event will be spread out over about 36 hours, we are not expecting significant impacts for our area. While some typical nuisance flooding is possible, the potential for flash flooding on our Bayshore area, flooding appears low at this time. We will continue to monitor the progress of the system and will provide another update by Friday afternoon.
