Meals in the Meantime Our mission is filling the food gap in Chicagoland south suburbs with nourishment and dignity.

We provide free, fresh, healthy, high-quality grocery bags of food at drive-thru, pop-up food pantries. Meals in the Meantime is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing food support and assistance. We help seniors, single women and men, families, young adults, and children. We provide food at pop-up food pantries by partnering with local townships, villages, and faith-based organizations. We help people who need food directly in communities where they live. The core of our work is putting free, fresh, healthy, high-quality food directly in the hands of people in need.

Partnerships make it possible for us to fill the food gap with nourishment and dignity!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Chick-fil-A Matteson, for providing breakfast for volunteers at our food pantry on Saturday, October 10th!

We appreciate Chick-fil-A's commitment to supporting organizations that serve local communities.

It takes a village to fight food insecurity, and we're grateful to have Chick-fil-A Matteson as part of our village!

"When my story is told, I want the story to focus on how I was given a divine assignment to help people who need food. I want the story to focus on how Meals in the Meantime is grounded in the idea that nourishment and dignity can co-exist in the fight against food insecurity. I want the story to focus on purpose. A purpose driven life. That’s what I’m living and for that, I am grateful." - Kevin M. Yates, President & Founder, Meals in the Meantime
