Maynard School District is seeking a School Resource Officer (SRO) / Criminal Justice Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year.

• Job Title: School Resource Officer (SRO) / Criminal Justice Instructor
• Employment Status: Full-Time Maynard School District Employee
• Compensation: Based on the Certified Teacher Salary Schedule (Minimum $50,000 annually)
• Service Period: Minimum 190 Days per Year (School Term)
• Schedule & Hours: Full school day, including law enforcement supervision of all on-campus extra-curricular events
• Application Location: Maynard School District Website under the Classified section

Responsibilities include building positive relationships with students and staff, assisting with school safety, monitoring campus areas and events, supporting investigations when needed, and serving as a positive role model on campus.

This position will also include teaching the following high school courses:
• Crime Scene Investigation
• Foundations of Law Enforcement
• Introduction to Criminal Justice

The ideal candidate will work closely with administration, staff, students, and the community to help make Maynard School a safe and welcoming place for all.

We had the distinct honor of showing appreciation to several very special staff members Tuesday after school.
Ms. Jane Edington and Ms. Penny Fewins are both retiring and will be greatly missed by both students and staff. Ms. Fewins dedicated 35 years to education, with 22 of those years spent teaching at Maynard High School. She will certainly be hard to replace, and we wish her nothing but the very best in retirement. Ms. Edington has served in the high school cafeteria for the past five years, and we will all miss her smile and delicious cooking.
Mr. Felipe Baiza is leaving the district to pursue police work in another capacity. We appreciate everything he has done for our school district and wish him the very best moving forward.
Ms. Jessica Shocklee and Mr. Darrell Young will also be greatly missed, and we thank them for their dedication and service to Maynard School.
We also had the opportunity to honor several outstanding employees for their hard work and dedication. Ms. Lisa Kincade was named High School Classified Staff Member of the Year. She works tirelessly to keep our campus looking great. Mrs. Audrey Morris was named Elementary Classified Staff Member of the Year and has a tremendous love for working with our young students. Mrs. Whitney Meridith was named District Teacher of the Year. She teaches kindergarten and has such a positive impact on everyone who knows her.
Congratulations to our retirees and honorees, and we wish those beginning new adventures the very best of luck. 💛🖤
