🫡New Yorkers meeting USS New Yorkers! 🤝

Last week during Fleet Week NYC, the crew proudly hosted public ship tours in Manhattan. Over 10,000 visitors were able to come and see how we honor and represent our namesake in everything we do. Our ship is a floating memorial to the events of 9/11 with 7.5 tons of steel forged into the bow from the wreckage at ground zero. We also displayed artifacts, posters and memorabilia from NYC all throughout the ship with our main passageway named Broadway and our galley named Hell's Kitchen. We were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return to the city and state of our naming and felt as if we were truly home. THANK YOU for coming to see us New York!

Memorial Day Baseball! ⚾️🫡

Last week in NYC for Fleet Week 2025, the New York Mets staff hosted a pre-game tour of Citi Field for Rear Adm. Hakimzadeh, commander of Carrier Strike Group Two, our very own CO Capt. Issler and a group of NYK Sailors and embarked Marines. After the tour, the group proudly participated in a very special Memorial Day pre-game ceremony. The opening pitch was thrown by Captain C.B. Sully Sullenberger with Capt. Issler and Adm. Hakimzadeh delivering the iconic, "play ball." We would like to thank the Mets staff for the tour and hospitality!
