is to provide trained community volunteers to speak for children in court who are victims of dependency, neglect and/or abuse. The citizens of Bracken, Fleming, Mason, Robertson, and Nicholas Counties are very fortunate to have a strong CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program that advocates for the best interests of abused, neglected, and dependent children. The mission of our program is t
o find a “safe and loving home for these children as soon as possible.” As Executive Director of the CASA program, along with our Board of Directors, the wonderful volunteers, and most importantly the children we serve, we want to thank all those who support our program financially, as well as those who we work with on a daily basis in a collaborative way to provide the many services these children need. Last year, more than 93,225 CASA and guardian ad litem (GAL) volunteers helped 242,236 abused and neglected children find safe, permanent homes. CASA volunteers are everyday citizens who have undergone screening and training with their local CASA/GAL program.
