Rigo and his wife, Elda Garza are parents of two special children, Rigo III and Bobby, who are now 27 y/o. As parents of these children, Rigo and Elda felt the need to get involved in helping their own children and others in their situation and in 1983 co-founded Parents for Medical Assistance and Support for the Handicapped in McAllen, Texas, an organization that sponsors Fiesta Familiar, a yearly informative conference for parents of special children and the professionals that serve them in South Texas.
Rigo is a 2002 Cum Laude graduate of U.T. Pan American-Edinburg, where he obtained a B.A. in English. He is also a 2004 Cum Laude Graduate of Texas Southern University, where he obtained a J.D. He began the practice of law in May 2005 as solo practitioner, after working as Legal Assistant at various strong Plaintiff and Defense firms in the Rio Grande Valley for over 8 years. He is a strong believer in aggressive litigation, continuing education, ethical conduct, and community service.
Rigo is a member of the Texas Bar College after recording more than twice the number of required legal education hours by the State Bar of Texas. He is also member of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association, American and Hidalgo County Bar Associations, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association, Board of Directors of Texas Fiesta Educativa (San Antonio, Tx), and member of the Finance Board at his parish, San Juan Diego Catholic Church, in McAllen, Texas.
Rigo's areas of practice include Immigration, Criminal Defense, Family Practice, and Personal Injury involving serious accidents.
