Artist in You - Jackson Pollock
Paul Jackson Pollock, was an American abstract expressionist painter. The developer of “drip” technique, Pollock also sculpted using sand casting, wire, and gauze.
Using shapes, colors, and forms abstract painting does not represent visual reality. Watch as Mike creates a gorgeous piece of art using acrylic and sand for added texture.

Mytherious Legends - Catapults
Catapults are devices used to launch a projectile a great distance without the use of other propellants. Created at least in the 4th century BC in ancient China, they have been seen in Greek, Roman, and European history.
Catapults can range from a device that can be larger than a building to as small as a slingshot! Watch as Kenali tests out the device they made during Mytherious Legends!

Summer Drinks - Cold Brew
With a wide range of brewing methods, here is a fast and easy way to make cold brew coffee at home!
Cold brew coffee is said to have a lower acidity level then regular coffee, it’s supposed to be sweeter and smoother since the coffee grounds aren’t exposed to high temps, making it more flavorful and less bitter.

Artist in you: Pointilism
Pointillism is a technique of painting, using small, distinct dots of color to form an image. Branching from Impressionism, pointillism was developed by Georges Seurat and Paul Signac in the late 1880’s.

Mandalas are an object of meditation to aid in one’s spiritual development. The imagery depicts the universe and the symbols represent one’s spiritual journey. Drawing mandalas follows strict rules.
Creating mandalas relaxes the body and mind, cultivates the feeling of happiness, and eases stress. It’s also been known to help improve sleep!

Little House on the Prairie - Biscuits
Last week we shared how to create your own sourdough starter! When you use your own starter, you can place the scrapes from your own sourdough biscuits to feed it some more.
Here is Alicia making an easy and delicious biscuit recipe. Did you know that Laura Ingalls began teaching school when she was only 15 years old and was 65 years old when “Little House in the Big Woods” was published in 1932.
