Did you see Chris Evans of the Forest Service on WSIL last night talking about what the Forest Service does? Are you aware that the Trump administration is trying to dismantle this agency, saying they are reorganizing it?

If you follow Alt National Parks, you know this site is defending the forest service. Trump plans to close 57 research facilities and place 15 political state directors in charge. Now is the time for action, and Alt National Parks has called on all outdoor related businesses and retailers to come to the defense of the Forest. Many, including Patagonia, Black Diamond, Backcountry, and Allegheny Outfitters have spoken out against what Trump is doing. A breakdown of what is being done and what the administration says it is doing has been posted on the Alt National Parks page, and they have also created a website-- saveusfs.org

If it says anything about all this--the national headquarters is being moved to Salt Lake City--Utah is the heart of the anti-public lands movement.

This is another way to attack science and public service. Have a look at saveusfs.org

Julie Fortier spoke at the Town Hall Saturday in McLeansboro. She had invited Mike Bost to join her for a debate. He did not show, just as he has not shown up for District 12 in any other manner!

However, this gave Julie time to really let us know who she is, what has motivated her run for office, and where she stands on issues. Folks, she is one of us and believes the way we do! Her election would make a tremendous difference for us and our district.

Julie and her team are anxious to reach out on social media so more and more can hear what she has to say. If you do not follow her page, please search for her and do so now. And please share with your friends. This is a woman new to politics and is coming from behind. Just as Glenn Poshard, for all his years in office, she is not accepting any PAC money. She runs on our donations, our support, and her own steam.

We need Julie in our district.

This is a call for singers (just girls this time) to sing a few songs in front of Bost's office in Murphysboro on Sunday, April 12, at 1pm. It will be recorded and sent to media far and wide. The songs we are doing are:

"What's Up" by For Non Blondes
"We're Not Going To Take It" by Twisted Sister
"Hit The Road Bost" (chorus only of Hit the Road Jack)

You can sing just on the chorus or the whole song. The message is the most important part...doesn't have to be a polished performance! We will try to get together once beforehand to practice (several of us have already been singing these songs
at open-mic and protests, so will help lead).
