Morning everyone! This one got some media attention yesterday, and we would like to make sure you are all aware of the outlook. Conditions have been dry for several weeks, and this trend should continue into the last week of September. When combined with the warm temperatures this suggests the potential for a flash drought in parts of Georgia (see the graphic below). For now only Abnormally Dry conditions are noted in Georgia via the U.S. Drought Monitor, but some areas could be upgraded to D1 in the coming weeks if the trend of dry and warm weather lingers as forecast.
