St. James Haven Sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph, St. James Haven is a homeless shelter for men. St. to 8:00 a.m.

James Haven, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, provides safe shelter and support for homeless men 365 days a year from 6:00 p.m. Each night, guests receive a warm meal, a hot shower, hygiene products, and a comfortable bed in a welcoming environment. Our goal is to offer a place where men can regain stability without the immediate worry of where they will sleep or eat. We believe in providing a hand up, not a handout, working closely with local social service agencies to help our guests transition into independent living. Staffed by an Executive Director and two live-in managers, St. James Haven is supported by a dedicated board of directors, nightly visitors, and volunteers who ensure each guest is treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. We receive no ongoing government or state funding and rely entirely on the generosity of our community to continue our mission. Through our Beyond a Bed series, we hope to encourage greater awareness, challenge misconceptions, and foster meaningful conversations about homelessness in our community.

HOMELESSNESS CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE.

Housing instability is often the result of a combination of circumstances, challenges, and decisions that accumulate over time.

Job loss. Financial hardship. Rising housing costs. Low wages. Mental health challenges. Substance abuse. Family conflict. Personal struggles. The list goes on.

MOVING FORWARD TAKES MORE THAN A ROOF OVERHEAD.

Without access to appropriate resources, encouragement, and opportunities for change, breaking the cycle of homelessness can feel overwhelming.

WITH THE RIGHT SUPPORT, A PATH TOWARD STABILITY AND INDEPENDENCE IS POSSIBLE.

Through compassion, accountability, and support, individuals can begin rebuilding their lives, developing healthier habits, and working toward stability and independent living.

Join us for St. James Haven's October Drive-Thru Community Dinner fundraiser, sponsored by Bayshore Homes.

Date: Today!
Time: 3-6 PM
Location: St. James Haven, 779 North Main Street, Meadville

Enjoy a choice of chili or white chicken chili, served with cornbread and a sweet treat.

Cost: Donation (minimum $5/meal)

Your order will be taken by our volunteers and delivered to you car-side. We serve rain or shine.

Thanks to our amazing community of supporters, St. James Haven recently received a very generous donation from Crawford Gives.

In just 72 hours, the Haven received over 100 individual donations, more than DOUBLING our fundraising goal for the event. W-o-w!
