Did You Know:
You are excited, you just shot your target buck that you’ve been dreaming about for 3 years. A main frame 11 point with a split brow tine or a drop tine. Then you find out that split brow tine is going to be penalized TWICE! Say What!
When scoring a Typical buck in the Boone and Crockett Scoring System an abnormal tine is never added into the subtotal (spread+column 1+column2). Then all deductions (column3) are subtracted from the subtotal to arrive at the Net Score.
So the 3 7/8” split tine is actually a 7 6/8” deduction from the Gross Score.
