A 15-year-old kid in West Virginia just caught a pending state-record golden rainbow trout that weighed 11.84 pounds, measured 28 inches long with a 19-inch girth, and he caught it on a single cured steelhead egg drifted under a float. The best part might be his line that the trout was “too fat to jump.” That is the kind of fish story every angler dreams about a giant, colorful tank of a trout showing up when you least expect it and turning into a memory that lasts forever.
