HUGE tiny 🏑 πŸ’™ THANKS New Neighbors of the Greater Memphis Area for helping Homes for Hearts build our next tiny home.

If you're not familiar with New Neighbors, they are "Friends meeting friends through social activities and community service".

A lovely group of people with big hearts for Memphis.

This is generosity, and we are so grateful for it.

You help us continue to do this work.

We build homes
so grandparents
have somewhere
to tell stories.

So children
know where to return
for the holidays.

So flowers
can bloom
in the same garden
year after year.

So hope
has an address.

Every wall raised,
every roof fastened,
every key handed over,

is a quiet declaration
that tomorrow
is worth believing in.

HUGE NEWS Memphis! πŸ‘πŸ’™ We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Memphis and Shelby County CRA to build 2 (300 sf) homes in the Medical District on Ashland, directly behind Room-in-the Inn's Recuperative Care Center.

Homes for Hearts is receiving up to $20,000 subsidy per door from the CRA to build these homes. But, did you know that Homes for Hearts has an average affordability gap of $16,000 per home? That's the cost for our organization to make these homes possible for the next Memphian.

Every time we raise an average of $16,000, we can build another home for a Memphian in need of affordable and sustainable homeownership. Your gift, whether monthly, annually or just once time keeps our organization alive.

πŸ’™ This is the first of many new announcements, including our new model and 3 year strategic plan, in which we will all be unraveling over the coming months.

You will learn all about our new model, moving up from 280sf with Andre Jones of Jones Urban Development and how we have chosen to responsibly scale our mission, vision and impact over the coming years.

Thank you 901 for all of your support, we cannot do this without you. 🫡

A hammer knows nothing of kindness. A saw cannot feel compassion. A nail has never understood hope. Yet place them into hands that care, and suddenly wood becomes shelter, shelter becomes belonging, and belonging becomes a life rebuilt. The strongest homes are never built by lumber alone. They are built by people who choose to lift one another.

For older adults and people rebuilding their lives, homeownership isn't just about eliminating a mortgage. It's about stability. It's about dignity. It's about building equity instead of paying rent forever. It's about having a place that can't simply be taken away. The goal is to create the greatest chance for someone to remain safely and successfully housed for the rest of their life. Sometimes the most compassionate solution isn't asking people to pay faster. It's giving them the breathing room to succeed.

Memphis! πŸ’™ We are incredibly excited to share that for the past six months, Homes for Hearts has been working toward several major initiatives that have the potential to help reshape affordable homeownership in our city and positively impact the lives of countless Memphians for generations to come.

What we're building today has the potential to create opportunities that will extend far beyond the next home, the next family, or even the next generation.

Over the next six months, we're going to take you behind the scenes of this journey. We'll share the partnerships we've built, the buyers we're preparing to serve, the vision that's driving this work, and the incredible organizations, businesses, foundations, community leaders, and supporters who have come together to help make it all possible.

This has been years in the making, and we’re just getting started. 🏑 πŸ’™

We can't wait to share what's ahead with you.

Thank you to everyone in the community who has made this work possible.
