The Neighborhood Crime Prevention Grant is a grant of up to $2,500 for crime prevention efforts to benefit your neighborhoods. If you have an emergency, please call 911. Report suspicious activity to 545-COPS. This page is updated by our office team and occasionally we utilize interns. Your neighborhood group could be next! To apply, you must:

• Be an active neighborhood group, Homeowners Associa

tion, Faith Based Organization;

• Register with your local MPD Station Neighborhood Watch Coordinator as a neighborhood watch group. Submit an updated letter from law enforcement verifying the required meetings and partnership with your police station( this comes from your local MPD station commander).

• Attend our mandatory Neighborhood Crime Prevention Grant workshop( This is a workshop that explains the application process hosted by the MANW office))

• Be a permanent resident of the City of Memphis.

• Have a valid checking account, preferably in the group’s name.

• Submit the completed NCPG application by the deadline date and time.

General information

In 2013 the Memphis city Council passed an ordinance designating revenues generated from the Red Light Cameras for distribution to help neighbohroods with crime prevention efforts in their communities. The Office of MANW provides grant funds through the NCPG, and additional resources to assist neighborhoods in that effort. In addition, the NCPG encourages citizen involvement and promotes social interaction through active group patrols and volunteer opportunities. NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS CAN RECEIVE UP TO $2,500!
