The Town of Mendon Select Board has published the following community notification: There will be fireworks on Saturday, September 9th as part of the Rock the Block community event. People with livestock or sensitive animals are urged to take necessary precautions.

Last night at the Town of Mendon Selectboard Meeting, on-call Deputy Chief Jason Bangma was appointed as Full Time Deputy Chief starting July 5, 2023 and will become the Full Time Fire Chief on December 22, 2023 when Chief Kessler retires.

Deputy Bangma has been a career firefighter for over twenty years in a neighboring community,
with the last decade as an officer. He has completed numerous trainings including the Chief Fire Officer program from the MFA/Umass Boston.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Mendon Fire Dept.
