3/10/26 140 PM Update: Storm Prediction Center has indicated that a Tornado Watch will likely be issued for the vast majority of West Central Texas by 4 PM. In addition to the potential of a few tornadoes, very large hail, and damaging winds are also likely with any of these storms.

We are grateful to our volunteers who worked behind the scenes, those who donated, and everyone who purchased or helped spread the word. Events like this directly support our ability to serve the Mereta area and respond when our community needs us most.

Today, Cadets from the Concho Valley Fire Academy are taking their state certification test for Firefighter 1 & 2, Hazmat Awareness & Operations. Cadets are from Wall Volunteer Fire Department, Mereta Volunteer Fire Department, and Fort McKavett Volunteer Fire Department. Thank you to Certification/Testing Administrator Kevin Creamer from the State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas for assisting us in the testing process!
