🚨LEG ALERT: Stop Anti-Union HB 11
Tomorrow, March 22nd, your state reps will be voting on HB 11, a bill that would eliminate public unions in a workplace if membership declines below an arbitrarily set percentage.
Make no mistake, the intent of this bill is to strip our teachers and public servants from having a voice on the job. This bill would eliminate their ability to collectively bargain for fair wages and benefits, and silence their advocacy for the rights of all workers in Florida.
Call the following members of the House Government Accountability Committee and tell them to stand with workers and vote NO on HB 11.

HB 11 would allow for the decertification of any public sector bargaining unit that can’t demonstrate that their membership represents 50% or more of the total number of employees in the unit.
Florida’s public sector workers have the constitutional right to collectively bargain under Article 1 Section 6, the same section that also contains the Right to Work (for less). That means that legislators must find sneaky, seemingly innocuous ways, to eliminate the ability for public sector workers to come together to bargain for better work lives and marshal their collective resources for political action.
HB 11 is one of the perennial favorites for anti-worker legislators, and template legislation from big business backed organizations like the American Legislative Exchange Council, ALEC.
Call the state representatives above and leave them with the message that you reject this clear assault on workers rights. If you see your local legislator in the list above, be sure to let them know that as their constituent you are strongly against HB 11.
