Yesterday was all hands on deck for Monmouth County’s America’s Big Birthday Parade! Middletown took primary command and staffed EMS crews at four different stations throughout the 2.3 mile parade. We also had multiple apparatus in the parade. The town remained covered during the whole event with 3 different crews from MEMS. Crews from to Marlboro EMS, Holmdel EMS, and MedStar provided assistance staffing 2 ambulances in our parade route and provided an ATV and Gator for rapid responses in the parade! Medical Ambulance Bus 6 was also there to provide assistance! Thank you to all the crew members and agencies who helped our standby run smoothly!

Happy EMS Week to all of the dedicated volunteers, EMTs, officers, drivers, and support personnel who continue to serve our community every day.

This year’s EMS Week theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” perfectly reflects where the Department of Middletown EMS stands today. For the first time in our history, Middletown EMS is operating as one unified department instead of five individual squads — one team with one mission: providing the highest level of care possible to the residents of Middletown Township.

Volunteer EMS is never easy, and periods of transition make the work even more challenging. Despite change and restructuring, our members continue to answer the call with professionalism, compassion, and resilience. Every shift covered, every call answered, and every act of teamwork demonstrates the strength of this department.

As Chief Floyd Goldstein shared:
“The true strength of this department is not found in our ambulances or equipment — it is found in the people who continue to step forward to serve their neighbors, no matter the challenges in front of them.”

We thank every member and family who continues to support this mission. Your sacrifice matters, and our community is stronger because of you.
