As a taxpayer, I never like to see my tax bill increase….BUT….I also understand that many of the things taxes provide are things I want, and those things are not free! So, this morning I voted FOR three times in less than FOUR minutes. I voted FOR better and larger facilities FOR the kids of Mildred ISD. I voted FOR band and FOR theater and FOR baseball and FOR softball and FOR volleyball and FOR basketball and FOR football—FOR bigger-better facilities, FOR facilities the whole community can be proud of. YES, it will cost me a Whataburger, Fries and Dr.Pepper each month, and I voted FOR it anyway—it won’t hurt me to miss one Whataburger a month! For those over 65, it won’t cost you anything. My kids are graduated or graduating and won’t directly benefit from this bond package, but I still voted FOR it because the school district and our community will benefit. So be like me, and go vote FOR all three bond proposals— it literally took me 1.3 minutes to go vote from the time I handed the nice lady at the desk my drivers license until the time I walked out the door with my nifty little sticker!
