The forecast tonight is clear skies! The lunar eclipse stars at 10:30 pm and peaks at about 12:15 am. I will be at the Delta Dome Observatory. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join in on the Moon party! 🌝

As a reminder, if you're interested in ordering clothing this year, you must order ahead of the Star Gaze by registering. The deadline for clothing for the mail-in form must be postmarked by Monday Aug. 17th. The deadline for clothing for online registration is Friday August 21st.

Good afternoon everyone and Happy 4th of July Weekend!

Great Lakes Star Gaze is fast approaching and I hope everyone is excited for another great year! Attached here is information for the event, the mail-in registration form, and the new appearl design.

Sorry for the delay in opening registration. We currently will have mail in registration open and are still working on getting online registration going. If you wish to wait for online registration please check back in the next week or two. When registering as an individual either select camping or bunkhouse. Since they are different prices and spaces limited in the bunkhouse, once you register you will not be able to switch. If registering as a family in order to stay together you will need to select the family camping option. If you want your family to stay in the bunkhouses you will need to pay individual prices.

Hi Everyone, The Delta Dome observatory public open house is tonight, Friday, May 8. The start time is 9:30 pm and will end at 11:30 pm. The observatory is on the west side of Delta College main campus between the baseball and softball fields. Park in the lot in front of the athletic concession building. Follow the red lights around the back side of that building and be ready to see galaxies, nebulas, star clusters, planets, oh my! Jupiter and its parade of moons will be the highlight! 🤩

Gooood Morning Astronomers!

We hope that 2026 has treated you all very well so far as we look forward to this year’s Great Lake Star Gaze!

The Great Lakes Star Gaze will take place between September 10th-13th.

We WILL be returning to the Ocqueoc Outdoor Center at 7142 Ocqueoc Lake Rd, Millersburg MI, 49759.

With the excellent dark skies, comfortable amenities, and resources available at the Ocqueoc Outdoor Center, it’s clear this location is a special place for us to enjoy astronomy!

We have been able to expand our registration options where now we will have CAMPING OPTIONS! If you so desire, tent camping is now available on the property where designated, along with separate regisation for the bunk house lodging. Naturally for tent campers though, come prepared for the chance of bad weather because we can’t shelter everyone in the bunk house if the weather does turn bad.

Registration isn’t open yet but we wanted to give you an update for this upcoming year so you can start planning. We will post updates here as we decide on the details for GLSG 2026!
