The Birth to Three Program is for children ages birth to 3 years old who are suspected of having developmental delays that may indicate the need for early intervention services. Children ages birth to 3 who are eligible for services have:

* A diagnosed condition, with a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay
* A diagnosed hearing or vision impairment

If you are concerned about your child’s development, know the Milwaukee County DHHS Birth to 3 Program is there to help. PLEASE CALL. The earlier a child receives an evaluation and services, the more we can do to support you.

Reminder: Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day Virtual Event

Children Mental Health Awareness Day is May 9th!

Join the Mental Health Task Force as we celebrate National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. In honor of May 9th, the Mental Health Task Force is hosting a special Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day virtual event on May 11, 2021 @ 3:00p.m. This event will shine a positive, caring message to the world spotlighting Children and Youth Spreading Awareness through poems and posters. Their message is about what is the best way to treat people. Please support our children and youth as they present and speak about their artwork.

We invite Wisconsin elementary, middle, and high school children to submit a poem or a poster with theme of “Spreading Awareness” of mental health. All entries are due by May 2nd.

Today! Saturday, April 24th is National Drug Take Back Day! Take advantage of the free, convenient, confidential, and safe disposal of unused or medications.

All prescription drugs will be accepted, as well as over-the-counter medications, vitamins and veterinary medications. The DEA Drug Take Back CANNOT accept needles and syringes.

Safe disposal of unused or expired medications prevents drug abuse and misuse, accidental poisoning, and protects the environment.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is offering up new guidance for day centers and the people with disabilities they’re serving during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The guidance comes in two documents — one aimed at administrators and staff and another for participants and their caregivers — that were issued late last month.
