Please share this Covid-19 vaccine info and eligibility update from the City of Milwaukee Health Department. #crushcovidmke

Increased availability of #COVID19 vaccine will allow the Milwaukee Health Department to expand the categories of eligible individuals that can make appointments at the Department’s vaccination sites.

Front line essential workers, people in Medicaid long-term care programs, and non-frontline essential health care employees who live or work in Milwaukee can now make appointments either online at milwaukee.gov/covidvax or by calling 414-286-6800.

With the added support from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that starts on March 15th, the vaccination site at the Wisconsin Center will be open to people who live and work in a wider geographical area.

✨Today on Feature Friday we recognize Sharon Robinson, who has served as the City of Milwaukee’s Department of Administration (DOA) Director for 16 years! While she prefers to stay out of the spotlight, Sharon is honored to serve as the City’s Chief Administrator and to call Milwaukee home. Notably, she is also the first African American person to serve as DOA Director.

Originally from Michigan, Sharon relocated to Milwaukee from the Washington, D.C. area upon accepting her appointment to Director of Administration by Mayor Barrett in 2004. She recalls, “I was ready to come back home to the Midwest and I felt this role allowed me to use the influence the position would give me to shape and spearhead quality of life initiatives. It has always been my passion to help those most marginalized and in need.”

The DOA is responsible for most centralized functions, playing a key role in working with every City department to meet mission critical service delivery goals and help the Mayor to manage the day-to-day operations of City government. DOA divisions and offices include Budget and Management, Grants Administration, Purchasing, Intergovernmental Relations, Information Technology Management, and the offices of Environmental Collaboration, Equity and Inclusion, and African American Affairs.

Sharon is the chairperson of the 2020 Greater Milwaukee’s Complete Count Committee (CCC), comprised of residents and community leaders from government, education, business, and faith-based and community-based organizations. At the time the CCC was tasked by Mayor Barrett with spreading the word about the importance of the census and is concentrating its efforts on historically undercounted populations to ensure that every adult and child is counted in the census, regardless of citizenship. Under her leadership, Milwaukee was deemed by the U.S. Census Bureau as one of the highest performing cities in the nation in the 2010 Census.

In her role as Director of Administration, Sharon has led many quality of life initiatives. She shares, “Perhaps those I’m most proud of include I Have A Dream Milwaukee and Fund My Future Milwaukee.” Both programs seek to ensure that low-income youth have a chance for a future that includes a higher education. She is also proud to have led the City's efforts to launch the Black Male Achievement Advisory Council, My Brother's Keeper Initiative, and new Office of Equity and Inclusion and Office of African American Affairs.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Sharon Robinson for her hard work and unwavering dedication to the City of Milwaukee and the wider community!

https://youtu.be/-lNxE50U_-0 Congratulations on bringing the hate Tibbets......His improper actions as well as making up law is beyond what he is trained and must have been learned on the street. He brings discredit upon the City, the Department and every member who is doing it right.....
I am sure there will be no response. However, there needs to be more organization for the priority shots locations for the Mill Road location. The hours are 10-4 when most have to work and on a walk in basis? Now this means one will have to take an entire day as no one knows how this will work as a walk in. Can someone revisit this and set it up so there are appointments as well. Better planning for the staff so they are not inundated too. Looking for several appointments...who can help?

I can tell by the failure to remove leaves from the streets how you all will treat Milwaukee once the snow hits.😑 What a great job. You should give yourselves a pat or two.

WTH is this. So if they show up out in front of your homes in the middle of the night and you get the same police respond time I hope you'll just wait patiently. Pathetic
