Read with Me: Bathtime for Biscuit

Day #3 of our salute to Next Door volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week from Points of Light. Today, we thank the volunteer readers who recorded a total of 80 stories for our Online Read with Me program during the pandemic. We shared these stories with our students to enjoy at home since we were not able to have volunteers in our libraries reading to the children. The video featured here is from Raegan at St. John's Lutheran School. The school submitted 35 stories! #NVW

Day #2 of our salute to Next Door volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week from Points of Light. Today, we thank those who have cleaned and repaired donated books for Next Door’s Books for Kids program. We arranged for these volunteers to do this work from home over the past year through safe pick-up and drop-off procedures at Next Door. They helped us prepare more than 15,000 books! We distribute these books to Next Door students and children in Milwaukee to build their home libraries. #NVW

InBrief: How Resilience is Built

We’re sharing an important video from Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University about building resilience in our children. One of the key components are the positive relationships children share with people like early childhood educators.
