14 Day YouTube Video Challenge
Nancy Olsen introducing Tutor You
14 Day YouTube Challenge (Day 1) (06.02.16)
I am trying to catch up now with the 14 day YouTube Challenge and go through all of Lou's training exercises to complete the course!
Day 27 (03.29.16)
I did NOT pass speech proficiency in my college speech class. But needed to pas in order to graduate from college. As much as I hated speech, I eventually did pass!
Day 26 (03.29.16)
Colorado was my home from 2001 - 2004. It afforded me a unique experience to meet and make some great friends. It was also a humbling experience to be a cleaning lady in a mansion on top of a mountain at 8,300 feet elevation.
Day 24 (03.28.16)
This was an idea that gained some very positive feedback. Rather than writing and mailing out my Christmas letter, I sent this YouTube link of me in my new home!
01/02/2016 Nancy Olsen wishes you a Happy New Year 2016 as she recaps 2015. Nancy left great friends in Georgia to move back to Wisconsin to be closer to fam...
Day 23 (02.28.16)
This question was asked a few days ago: What do I do best?? I volunteer! I also am going to give you a big picture view of the condo where I live. No, it is not an institution, it is my home!!
Day 23 (02.27.16)
Experimenting is fun! I made ONE video, but used one cell phone and one camera on two tripods! Mistakes are obvious but have a much greater appreciation for those folks that edit movies for a living!
Day 22 (03.26.16)
We are now ready for Resurrection Sunday as we approach Easter. This image has meant a lot to me over the years as I have shared it with others and now to you! Happy Easter!
Day 21 (03.24.16)
Still experimenting with a 5 second intro and a quick tutorial on "picture in picture" in Screencast-o-Matic. It's actually quite easy and I encourage you to try it out. (I will have to say, though, that making videos are a LOT easier then making screen shots and putting them into Power Point! Why? I could NOT figure out how to make a video of Screencast-o-Matic with Screencast-o-Matic! It would not let me!)
Day 20 (03.21.16)
To let you know more about me, I am showing you where I live. It's a 3rd floor 2 bedroom (apartment) condo in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I try to space out where I 'make' my videos, but in a small space, the only thing I can really do is change to a different outfit.
Day 19 (03.20.16)
I am still experimenting. Movie Pro is an app on my cell phone that has more options for better videos. This example demonstrates how easy to zoom up to five magnifications with clear crisp images. I mounted my camera on top of one tripod filming my cell phone on the other tripod. The camera's image, however, is not clear.
Day 18 (03.18.16)
Somebody else's trash really IS somebody else's treasure. It's fun when you can get a bargain (not that I was looking for it), but the fun is now yet to begin with my new treasure!
Day 17 (03.18.16)
This is a 4 minute trip down memory lane of some 45 years of my life. Still amazing how life races on and we wonder where the moments are that we really want to remember.
Day 16 (03.17.16)
Conflict! Not my favorite subject, in fact one of my WORST subjects. What I found, however, was resolution makes its way to the front of the class when conflict is handled properly.
Day 15 (03.16.16)
Facebook Insights page have the ability to tell each us stories - some good, some not so good. I "think" I have had a few days that were much better than others and invite you to check out the "stories" on your Facebook video challenges!
Day 14 (03.15.16)
Lou Bortone is always full of good advice. If your videos on Facebook are a tad fuzzy, then click on the HD tab!
Day 13 (03.14.16)
This will be a repeat of some photos, but I learned something new again! I learned how to add photos to the photo time line with me still speaking through the viewing of the photos! No change in the audio at all, just one track. Music was was east to add to the track. Filmora has a LOT of transitions from which to choose, so they were fun to test out on the photos as well. Still more to learn as I edited about 45 seconds out to get rid of verbal redundancies.
Day 12 (03.12.16)
What could be more fun that a splash on the river! I learned how to do a 'voice over' on the photo, right after I recorded myself on the video. This was done at my computer using the we**am for both. I added music but could NOT get it as soft as I wanted it. Was my voice hard to hear?
Day 11 (03.11.16)
Still experimenting! But I do NOT know how to insert a photo over my voice in Filmora. I know Camtasia allows additional tracks, but haven't figured it out yet in Filmora. So, the photos are at the beginning and the end. If I put the photos in the middle, there is dead silence. If I speak into the we**am, the tone of my voice is completely different! (But fun to experiment!)
Day 10 (03.10.16)
This was a great 2001 memory with my four sisters and me. For a number of years we would get together for a 'sister' weekend, taking turns at each of our homes. My turn in mid-Wisconsin took us to Door County for a 'photo shoot'. This is one memory that always reminds me I am glad we did it!
Day 9 (03.09.16)
Still experimenting. This time I lightened up my face as it appeared to be somewhat shaded. The settings are a bit confusing because one can out-do the other and I am not sure what works best!
Day 8. "Up north" is where I go to see my family. Still experimenting with Filmora. I learned how to edit the voice track on this one. For the future, I think I would do a voice 'track' for each photo. And by that, I mean, put a 'break' on the voice track between each photo and then stretch each photo the length of each voice track. (I am learning LOTS on this challenge!)
Day 6 (03.06.16)
My goal is to learn how to capture my story so I can do this for others. You will hear a little bit about my friend Mary. She was a nurse in WWII in London. Enjoy what she told me. She gave me permission to share a recent photo of her with you!
(My cell phone was on a tripod and looks like it was in the sun giving a bit of a glare. I am using Wondershare- Filmora and find it to be VERY easy for editing and uploading. It has a fare number of bells and whistles at a reasonable price.)
Day 5 (03.05.16)
Grandparents are great because they gave us our parents. I so enjoy hearing friends say how much time they spent with their grandparents. They KNEW them and allowed their grandparents to influence their lives.
These two photos were done on Power Point. I just recorded my voice and saved the file as a video. Very EASY!!
Day 4 (03.04.16)
Day 3 (03.03.16)
My first attempt at saving this failed. So the 2nd time around is where we learn from our mistakes!
Nancy Olsen introduction for the 30 day video challenge
Yes! I agree!!
