Children’s Wisconsin - Child Abuse Prevention

Children’s Wisconsin - Child Abuse Prevention The Child Abuse Prevention Fund and Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin are programs of Children's Wisconsin Community Services. The mission is to ensure a safe, stable and nurturing environment for all children.

The Child Abuse Prevention Fund is a special program initiative of Children's Wisconsin. Since 1988, the organization has distributed more than $9.2 million to support community-based child abuse prevention initiatives throughout Wisconsin. Your donations to the Child Abuse Prevention Fund help children and families across Wisconsin. Programs that can benefit from your gift include: •Home visitation initiatives that help at-risk parents get started on the right foot when a baby is born. •Preventing child sexual abuse by funding programs that teach adults how to keep their children safe from sexual abuse and what to do in the event they suspect sexual abuse has occurred. •New, innovative approaches to strengthen families, enhance parenting skills and keep children safe from abuse and neglect.

Mission: The Child Abuse Prevention Fund is committed to ensuring a safe environment for children through financial support of primary prevention activities throughout Wisconsin and educating professionals and the public about the role of prevention in eliminating child abuse.

The last few months haven't been typical - in fact there has been a lot of confusion. Help children learn about what it feels like to be confused and how to deal with this feeling.

These are confusing times for all of us.
We will want to help our children identify when they are feeling confused, learn to be comfortable with it and then encourage and support them to explore and ask questions to work through their confusion to find clarity. Happy Feelings Hunting!

This week look for things to be thankful for. Involve the entire family.
07/13/2020

This week look for things to be thankful for. Involve the entire family.

Studies have shown that feeling “thankful” at a young age can help our children to grow up happier people. Some studies have even linked feeling thankful to everything from improved psychological well-being to better physical health. In these studies people who feel thankful tend to sleep better and even live longer. In addition, people who feel thankful for things that happened to them in the past, have been shown to feel happier in the present and more hopeful about their future. Clearly there are a lot of reasons to encourage our young children to feel and express their thankful feelings! So let’s get started by helping our children to notice things they are thankful for and then talk with them about how those things make them feel! Happy Feelings Hunting!
