Design Council of Milwaukee

Design Council of Milwaukee The Design Council of Milwaukee (DCM) is an organization that focuses on public-interest design solutions in the Milwaukee area.

The Design Council of Milwaukee (DCM) is an organization that focuses on public-interest design solutions in the Milwaukee area. DCM was founded in October of 2013 as a student organization at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently undergoing the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This is being done in an effort to expand our reach and achieve our goals of cross-pollination of academia, the design profession and the greater Milwaukee community so we can start taking our research and implementing it throughout the city. With our first projects underway, a symposium entitled ‘Being a Citizen Architect’ and a design competition to follow, we hope to educate the community about public-interest architecture. This will also serve as a launching point to start building support and funding for a Design-Build Urban Studio at the School of Architect at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee that would be sponsored by DCM. With a bright future, we cannot wait to keep you updated on our upcoming and future projects. Please join us on this path to creating a better Milwaukee to live, work and play.
