Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Church

Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Church A vibrant, inclusive, progressive Christian Church founded in the LGBT community, welcoming ALL God's children. We are a faith tradition that is rooted in diversity and inclusivity, providing a place of reconciliation, love, healing, and hope.
(15)

We accept all people: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and straight. We respect other religious traditions, and affirm the variety, depth, and richness of human experience in the search for meaning. We do not mandate personal beliefs nor prescribe individual religious practice. We are encouraged to develop our own relationship with God through study, prayer, faith, and participation in the worshipping community. We urge the use of scholarship, intellect, and critical inquiry to understand the presence of God in human life.

2020 World AIDS Day Message

Every year, on 1 December, the world, as well as Metropolitan Community Churches Worldwide commemorates World AIDS Day. We unite from far and near to show support for people living with and affected by HIV, as well as those who lost their lives to AIDS.

This year however, our attention has been focused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and how this pandemic as well as HIV affects our lives and livelihoods. Sadly, COVID-19 has again demonstrated that no one is safe until everyone is safe.

This World AIDS Day, as we lift our prayers, we also invite you to hear reflections from our Moderator, Rev. Elder Cecilia Eggleston, and two of our MCC saints, Rev. Steve Pieters and Rev. Jim Mitulski. Please share this message on your social media. Churches consider posting this on your website.

First Sunday in Advent

While Advent is a season of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Christ at Christmas and the return of Christ at the Second Coming. Advent is the beginning of the liturgical year in Western Christianity.

Today, even in these difficult times that we live in, we begin our Advent journey toward Christmas, bringing forth the message of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.

So, as we begin Advent with the Sunday of “HOPE” – May this be a time that we all bring great Hope back into the world we live in as we wait with anticipation for the coming of the Christ Child!

LGBTQ+ friends (and friends of friends ... and friends that we haven't yet met) … YOU ARE LOVED! YOU ARE WORTHY! You are a divine spark of God. You are a part of us, and we are a part of you. You are our beloved with whom we are well pleased.

Special words from our Senior Minister in respect to Same-Sex Marriage, and having the ability to get married, even in these times of pandemic. Take a moment to read! 💝

LGBTQ+ friends (and friends of friends ... and friends that I haven't yet met) … YOU ARE LOVED! YOU ARE WORTHY! You are a divine spark of God. You are a part of me, and I am a part of you. You are my beloved with whom I am well pleased.

If you're scared about your civil rights, are in Wisconsin or close enough to get yourself to Wisconsin, and want to get married, I'm here. If you are not close enough, I have colleagues around the country making the same offer and am happy to connect you. I have both referred people and been a referral, depending on where you are and what you're looking for. I have relationships with many Christian, Jewish and other Faith Tradition clergy of various denominations and locations. Please feel free to contact me anytime. You have rights and you are loved.

Because of these realities we are all facing, you deserve the best. You can also proactively protect yourself. Get your affairs in order, protect yourself and your loved ones. Marriages are still being performed and offered by religious and non-religious leaders around the country and are available by me as well through Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Church.

Don't be alone - reach out. Do whatever you need to persevere in these uncertain times. And finally - in all of these ramblings that have been happening ... and if you are eligible and can do so - VOTE. Our very lives depend on it.

We are ALL in this together! 🙏💝

WHAT IS HOLINESS IN SIMPLE EXPLANATION. Holiness is the nature and character of God manifested to us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Holiness. Holiness, or Sanctification is the process of God's grace sanctifying (making holy) a person who was justified and regenerated (1 Cor. 6:11; Titus 3:5). Holiness or Sanctification is God's perfect will for all Christians (Rom.12:1-2; 1Thes.4:1-7). God ordained His people to bear fruit, and this includes maturity through sanctification. Holiness is BOTH consecration to God and separation from the world and all sins,it is always a command by God to man (Titus 2:11-12; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Matthew 5:48; 2Cor.5:17). Without Holiness, no man shall see the Lord (Mat.5:8; Heb.12:14; Rev. 22:10-12). God requires Holiness better than spiritual gifts, and is actually the basis of God's moving in the life of a person or church (Joshua 3:5; Matthew 7:21-23). Holiness is both partaking of God's divine nature through the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1:4), and the actual decision of man to submit to God's control (Rom.12:1). Therefore, a Christian is expected to leave sin and worldliness in pursuit of God's holiness. Separation from sin, wickedness, and worldliness is both a principle of Holiness and a command to obey (2 Cor.6:14-18; James 4:4; 1 John 2:15-16). If a Christian is truly living in the principles of the Bible concerning Holiness, then he will practically obey the standards of God's Word that pertains to holy, righteous, and godly living which includes moral standards, standards of godly clothing and adornment, and prohibition of worldly lifestyles and fashion. Holiness affects all areas and aspects of our lives, including our thoughts, words, actions, dress, lifestyles, relationships, and our outlook in life. In short, Holiness is both inward transformation toward Christ-like character and outward transformation that is different from the ways of the world and unbelievers. That's Holiness.
