It is my pleasure to co-sponsor a 3rd option for the Milwaukee County Budget, one that will achieve a balanced budget with minimized tax levy, minimized borrowing, and no increase to the wheel tax, while restoring funding that would have been cut to the Parks Department, restoring funding for bus routes, restoring funding for homeless shelters, restoring funding for child support, restoring funding for senior centers, and prioritizing public safety.
As the Milwaukee County Board has deliberated options for the 2018 Milwaukee County Budget, many have exclaimed that they wish there were more options. I am pleased to announce offering a 3rd option for the Milwaukee County Budget, one that will achieve a balanced budget with minimized tax levy, minimized borrowing, and no increase to the wheel tax, while restoring funding that would have been cut to the Parks Department, restoring funding for bus routes, restoring funding for homeless shelters, restoring funding for child support, restoring funding for senior centers, and prioritizing public safety. I am grateful to Supervisor Dan Sebring for co-sponsoring the amendment.
