Milwaukee 🤗
We have an extremely important...special update to share. 🧡💛🤎
On November 1st... Riverwest Pizza announced that we are gifting ONE HUNDRED complimentary Thanksgiving dinners.
Well...within the last 24 hours...that has drastically changed... all thanks to our unbelievably amazing, GENEROUS friends... Charteisha Carson-Clark and Jeff Hawkins.
Charteisha, a senior HR manager for Master Lock reached out...inquiring about the restaurant’s intentions for Thanksgiving...after allowing me to share the details for the day...Charteisha then shared something that left me speechless. She announced that she arranged for Master Lock to sponsor ANOTHER ONE HUNDRED MEALS❤️
The story continues...
Jeff Hawkins... mortgage lender extraordinaire with Fairway Independent Mortgage , also received word, that we are gifting Thanksgiving dinners...and HE arranged through Fairway...to also donate yet ANOTHER ONE HUNDRED MEALS. 😳Milwaukee...that brings us to a grand total of THREE HUNDRED meals. 💛🧡🤎
When I say there are NOT enough THANK YOU’s...there literally are not. I will speak for myself that everyone’s generosity and kindness...brought tears to my eyes.
Despite all of the turmoil we are dealing with...we are so grateful to have the opportunity to do our best to make this a very special day.
Please find details below😊

Day of the Dead - Día de los Mu***os originated several thousand years ago with the Aztec, Toltec, and other Nahua people, who considered mourning the dead disrespectful. For these pre-Hispanic cultures, death was a natural phase in life’s long continuum. The dead were still members of the community, kept alive in memory and spirit—and during Día de los Mu***os, they temporarily returned to Earth.

Today’s Día de los Mu***os celebration is a mixture of pre-Hispanic religious rites and Christian feasts. It takes place on November 1 and 2—All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on the Catholic calendar—around the time of the fall maize harvest.

We invite you to enjoy our culture and please remember this is not Mexican Halloween.

From Zipaquira, Colombia to Milwaukee. Pedro spent a few months in our city attending UWM College of Nursing as part of a partnership with Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Sitio Oficial and La Facultad de Enfermería.
Before he headed home he was welcome by our amazing partners at Aurora Health Care to visit, experience and learn about cardiac services in CV OR and Cath Lab. Our gratitude to our Presidenta Erika, our member Alejandro, and to all the leaders and staff involved in this great opportunity for this future Hispanic RN. 🇨🇴
We are better together!
