Wisconsin Afterschool Conference will have Dolores Kokinos at this years conference presenting

Establish Rapport for Better Communication
Rapport is something we know needs to happen for strong relationships, yet often times we over-look the basics of how to establish rapport quickly and authentically. With a solid foundation of rapport with the children and parents in your program having difficult conversations about challenging behaviors becomes much easier.

Help Your Teachers Be More Successful
Helping your staff be more effective and successful when working with children will decrease turnover and improve engagement. This workshop will cover three foundational and easy to administer techniques that are guaranteed to work. Train confident and capable staff to effectively interact with the children in your program. Children who are engaged will drastically improve the quality and energy of your program, as well as cut down on the presence of problem behaviors, ultimately making your job as director less challenging.

The Day After | Teaching Tolerance - Diversity, Equity and Justice

Good Afternoon

Today we will walk back into our after school programs after a long election season. The children, no different than us adults will have differing views on the election results and what is to come ahead.

This article was posted on the National Afterschool Association's page. There is some insight that may help prepare you for the climate of today's after school programming.

The most important thing we can do is to create a healthy space for the children to reflect while maintaining respect for one another.
