As Milwaukee and its business community strive to attract and preserve a talented, diverse workforce, HPGM's founding members recognized the important role they could play in this endeavor and the service it could provide to the Hispanic professional community as well as to corporations in the Greater Milwaukee area. HPGM was started with the help of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin and the Metro Milwaukee Association of Commerce. After several critical strategic planning sessions, key recruiting of members, and several fun, informal networking socials, HPGM has launched as a multi-generational non-profit 501c(3) organization. With membership over 450 and the positive buzz within the Greater Milwaukee community, HPGM is ready to ask the question:

This year’s first place award for Best Public Service Announcement (PSA) in Large Market Television in Wisconsin was given to Telemundo Wisconsin, for the Spanish language PSA “Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee.” This award recognizes the best single announcement promoting a non-profit effort or organization.

Jasmine Palacios- HPGM Scholarship Program

Jasmine is a nursing student at Carroll University and is currently working as a CNA as a frontline caregiver for patients who have tested positive for COVID-19. Last semester she was able to study abroad in Spain while being part of a medical internship. We are happy that, through our scholarship program, we are able to support students like Jasmine in reaching their career goals!

The Ethnic Minority Emergency Grant Initiative offers a business grant for $2K that is AVAILABLE TO ITIN BUSINESSES as well. Applicants have until May 24th to submit their applications.

A business may apply for a one-time grant of $2,000 for short-term operations assistance through Wisconsin’s Collective Ethnic and Diverse Organizations. Applicants will be subject to underwriting, and grant recipients will be required to submit a report indicating how the funds were used. Applications will be accepted from May 18-24, 2020.

Eligible applicants are minority-owned businesses with five or fewer full-time equivalent employees (including the owner) in the retail, service or hospitality sectors that have not received assistance through WEDC’s Small Business 20/20 Program or the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) through the federal CARES Act.

Documentary "The Sixty Project" is looking to interview 60-year-olds in Milwaukee, WI. Seeking diverse individuals between 58 and 63 years of age to be interviewed about turning the milestone age of 60. Milwaukee-based documentary looking for a diverse group of people to speak on subjects such as aging, retirement, loss, love/marriage, etc. Interviews will take place June 8th and 9th in Walker’s Point, Milwaukee. Each interview will last between 60 and 90 minutes, and a travel stipend will be offered to each participant. All ethnicities, body types, and backgrounds encouraged to apply. It is not necessary to be a Milwaukee resident, but you must be willing to travel to Walker’s Point.
