Proud and honored to be a part of the Innovative Efficiencies in Transportation package introduced by my fellow Democrats on the Assembly Committee on Transportation.

These bills will help ensure our Department of Transportation continues to run smoothly amidst an increased workload due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we often say here in Wisconsin, "keep 'er movin'!"

Nearly 200 Officers Fired Or Forced Out Are Back On The Job

Simply unacceptable: urbanmilwaukee.com/2021/08/22/nearly-200-officers-fired-or-forced-out-are-back-on-the-job/

This is why I am introducing legislation that decertifies so-called "bad apples" in law enforcement: the first step towards any meaningful criminal justice improvements require trust and good faith.

Hired again across the state after allegations including sexual harassment, drunken fights.

This *IS* who we are in America. And we must face it.

It's crucial to acknowledge the Greenwood Massacre that took place in Tulsa 100 years ago. It's crucial because this was a violent assault on a thriving community of color.

It's crucial because Greenwood is a somber reminder that this assault continues to this day, perpetuated on those striving to build in Black and Brown communities across the US.

This *IS* who we are in America, but it doesn't have to be.

We *MUST* stand against the bitter racism that continues to attack our communities.

The first step is acknowledgement.

Bill seeks to de-certify police officers to prevent job hopping - Wisconsin Examiner

"We have to change the culture of policing...we need to look at the core of what public safety means, what it is and actually change it at its core."

I spoke with Wisconsin Examiner this week to discuss the officer decertification bill I am introducing in the Wisconsin State Legislature:

https://wisconsinexaminer.com/2021/05/25/bill-seeks-to-de-certify-police-officers-to-prevent-job-hopping/

A freshman state rep's bill would de-certify police officers, and put the hiring decision in the hands of a civilian review board.

Happy Mother’s Day to my Ole Earth, Gwendolynne Sophia Moore.

As I celebrate her I recognize that several of my absolute favorite people are celebrating without the physical presence of their mothers and others without the physical presence of their children. And still others must do both. As we celebrate, let’s check in with one another.

WHAT'S UP WITH MILWAUKEE'S AFRICAN AMERICAN ALDERMAN AND COUNTY SUPERVISORS? Why aren't they involved in situations happening in OUR COMMUNITY? They need to be "foot soldiers" and move their bodies. Whenever anything happens in their district, then MOVE and GO to the incident. Examples: When any citizen is killed because of erratic driving, FAITH GROCERY STORE when the folks are protesting, neighborhoods where babies have died because of co-sleeping and on and on. WE NEED MORE MOVEMENT! MOVE YOUR BODIES!!!
