Today, the Minden Evening Lions Club, North Shreveport Cub Club, and Mercy’s Closet, joined by Minden Police Chief Jared McIver, dedicated a Little Library to serve children in our community.

Despite the rain, several young Cubs and friends came out to stock the shelves with books — a simple act of service that will make a lasting difference.

Proud of these kids, proud of this partnership, and proud of what community looks like when we work together.

Tomorrow, Miss Minden and the Young Women's Service Club are hosting an End of School Bash for our community! This is a FREE event and is for children of ALL ages!!! Come out and have fun with us!! We will have the following activities:

-Miss Minden, Sadie Brown, will have a "Confidence Corner" that will have arts, an Affirmation Station and Confidence Club where we will recognize and celebrate all your accomplishments this year!! 🎉

-Our Miss Heart of Minden, Presley Wood, will have a list of upcoming volunteer opportunities in our community that you can sign up for right there on site!! Be a part of her "Volunteen Network"! 💪👑

-The newly crowned Miss Louisiana's Teen, Ava Martin, will be hosting a dance party!! 💃🏼🪩

-Miss Minden Teen Volunteer, Harleigh Hart, will be there with information and signup opportunities for her Miss Minden St. Jude Pageant in June!! 👑

-Please bring a donation for the Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry for the Kids Summer Food Program!! This will help ensure that all the local children have food this summer!!! 🍎🍓🍌

Items needed:
granola bars
Peanut butter (small to-go style containers)
tuna packets
jello/pudding packs
juice packs
cereal bars
Pop tarts
small "grab n go" boxes of cereal
Chips

We will have kickball and tug of war and our local law enforcement, firemen, teachers and coaches will be in attendance to play along!! Minden Fire will also have a truck for the kids to check out! 🏈🚔⚽️🚒

-Be dressed to enjoy the splash pad, playground and a BUBBLE PARTY!!!! 🫧🫧

-Run and jump out all the energy you have on inflatables provided by Lee's Fun Jumps!! 🎉

They are providing the following:

📣A bounce house for the little kids!! 🧒 👧

📣A huge inflatable obstacle course for the bigger kids! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

📣A inflatable sports game for our athletes!🏈🏀⚾️

📣A dunking booth with some surprise "dunkees"!!!

-Love on and visit with adoptable dogs brought out by LaMa Animal Rescue and see if you find your new best friend!! 🐶❤️

-Drinks will be provided by Coca-Cola of Minden and Minden Police Chief, Jared McIver

-Hot dogs and chips will be provided by Ryan Barnette for Minden Police Chief and Hugh Wood Catering

-We will have a snocone truck and the prices will be as follows:

➡️16oz cups for $5
