Yesterday, our officers Sgt. Malone and Patrolman Mitchell, alongside the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, participated in an end-of-year trench ball tournament against 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders at Hills Elementary. It was quite the challenge and a whole lot of fun competing with such energetic and competitive kids!

Big shoutout to Steubenville Dunkin’ Donuts 🍩 for their second collaboration with the Mingo Junction Police Department in support of strengthening police and community bonds — bonds that can last a lifetime.

Yesterday was a lot of fun with an amazing turnout from the preschool students of Hills Indian Creek Elementary School.

“Yes, great turnout, no issues at all — so shoutout to the teachers and parents of these students. Not one issue. They followed directions very well.”

We want to thank the Indian Creek School administration, Principal Mrs. Alloggio, and all of the teachers and staff involved for helping make this event a fun, engaging, and safe experience for the children. 35 children in total in attendance.

We pray the kids have a blessed summer and wish those moving on to kindergarten an amazing year ahead! ☀️📚👮‍♂️

It truly takes a village.

Yesterday, our friend from Jefferson County Court 2, Probation Officer John Jones, stopped by with 12 hardworking participants from the community work program. Alongside Mayor Judy L. Ruckman and Chief W.J. McKenzie III, they helped clean and improve several areas throughout the village by cutting grass, painting curbs, and freshening up fire hydrants.

Although change does not happen overnight, we are thankful and grateful for the small improvements being made day by day.

We want to sincerely thank Mr. Jones for continuing to make our village a priority every year. Your efforts and leadership do not go unnoticed. Great guy and great leadership.

A special thank you as well to the Mayor for purchasing pizza for everyone involved.

Good morning good people. Let your yesterday be your yesterday, and your today be your today. Learn to forgive, heal, rebuild, try again, and move with purpose. Don’t let the past hold you back from the blessings of today. Your time is now.

Love, MPD

Earlier today, our department, alongside the fire department, participated in an active school threat training exercise. It was a challenging experience, but everyone trained hard and responded effectively to eliminate the threat scenario.

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Assistant Principal Mr. Herman, the Indian Creek School District, and all of the teachers who took part in the training. Your cooperation and commitment to safety made this exercise a success. &COMMUNITY
