Project Bee NO LONGER IN OPERATION

08/04/2024

For those picking up diapers today, or stopping by for a shower:

I will be unable to answer messages from 10-6 today, but volunteers will be there from 11-2.

For those who don’t know where we are located:

205 3rd Ave SE
Minot

The building is blue along the bottom half. It’s across from an empty parking lot.

If you are just now seeing posts about diapers you can still go by even if you haven’t messaged us yet. Messages today won’t be returned until this evening, so just go ahead and drop by.

Thank you! 😊🐝🤗

Hello Friends,

If you messaged us this week about needing to pick up diapers tomorrow between 11-2, we have your name and diaper sizes requested. Please be respectful of our volunteers efforts and time and plan to pick up between those hours of 11-2. If you sent us a message, we are planning on seeing you and are making sure we have enough diapers readily available.

If you need additional hygiene items, please bring your own bag to carry them in. We are pretty well out of our Project BEE tote bags. We can't promise we will have everything you need outside of diapers and wipes, but if we do we will let you know. Just let us know when you pick up your diapers what else you're in need of and we will try to accommodate.

Please be prepared to give your name and phone number when you sign for your items. Reminder that if you are sending someone else to pick up your diapers, they need to know your name and the size of diapers you have requested.

Thanks so much and we will see you tomorrow. :) :) :)

STATEMENT TO THE PUBLIC:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce Project BEE’s decision not to reopen our Winter Warming Center in October for another season. Despite relentless efforts and unwavering support from our community, the significant financial challenges that we have faced since December have now made it impossible for us to continue this program. Taking a step back from this specific operation will allow us the extra time we need to determine what the future of Project BEE will look like.

While this chapter is closing for now, we hope that the spirit of Project BEE’s mission of helping those during our winter months will live on in the community and inspire continued advocacy and support for those experiencing homelessness.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to all of the supporters, volunteers, staff and partners who have contributed to our mission these past 7 months. Your efforts of either donating your time, your talents and your money helped us get through our previous Winter Warming season. It allowed us to keep the doors open to those most vulnerable in our community, as intended, giving all of us the peace of mind of knowing that we didn’t have to unexpectedly ask our clients to leave. We have witnessed firsthand the positive changes and incredible impact of your collective efforts, however, the combination of insufficient funding and other factors have created an insurmountable barrier to sustaining the Winter Warming Center for this upcoming season.

We will continue operating our Basic Needs Pantry, Diaper Pantry and Shower Program. For assistance and questions regarding any of those programs please contact our office at 701-838-1812, send us a message on social media or email us at [email protected].

Thank you for your understanding, and for being part of our journey.

Sincerely,
Project BEE Board of Directors

WOW! What a response we have gotten in our messages! I just want to address a couple things about this event based on questions we have been getting….

If you are in need of a place to take a shower or know someone who needs one, we allow people to take showers in 15 minute time slots. This will be first come first served.

Our diapers go up to size 6. Larger than that we only have if it has been donated. Right now I cannot say exactly how many 7s we may or may not have and I won’t know until this weekend. 💥 If someone from the community would like to donate several packs of size 7 diapers specifically for SUNDAYS giveaway, that would be amazing. I have had several requests for 7s. 💥

This will be a 💥 FIRST COME FIRST SERVED 💥 event. We will have other hygiene items available as well, as supplies last.

🔴 If any women or young girls need feminine hygiene products, we have plenty for you as well. We ONLY have pads. No tampons or cups.

🍼 Regarding formula, we have very little formula left, and only 2-3 brands. 💥 Again, if anyone would like to donate formula for SUNDAY ONLY, please let us know.

When you message us the size you need it is solely so I can be sure to have as many sizes ready for people as possible. We have had SO MANY messages which is FANTASTIC, but I can’t personally reply to them all. Please know if I send you 👍🏻 it means I’ve got your information and we will see you Sunday. Again, keep in mind, FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.

If there is anyone who is NOT in need of diapers but would like to help us pass out diapers and help people as they arrive, please reach out and one of our board members will get back to you.

We understand this is all short notice, but Project BEE is solely being ran by the dedicated board members right now and we all have full time jobs during the week. Making time on the weekend to make sure we get diapers out to the community is important to us. With that knowledge, please be respectful and understanding of the 11-2 time frame. If there are a lot of people showing up at once, we will have you wait in a line outside the shelter while we help you one at a time.

Thank you!
🐝 💛💙

This Sunday, August 4th from 11am-2pm, we will be doing another diaper open house. If you need diapers and wipes please send us a message on our FB and let us know what sizes you need. There will be no exceptions for coming later on Sunday. Right now this is being maintained and ran on a volunteer basis and those three hours are all we have. If you can’t make it during that window on Sunday, the person picking up for you needs to know your name and the size diapers you have messaged us asking for.

If you have questions please send us a message. If you need a shower, we will be available that day during the 11-2 time frame for you to do that too.

See you Sunday!

💥 PLEASE SEE NEW UPDATED POST 💥

Hello Friends!

If you weren’t able to make it to the fair on Family Day for diapers, someone will be available at the shelter on Saturday from 10am-Noon if you’d like to stop by then. If you plan on coming by for anything, please send us a message with the following information:

Diaper size
Child’s age
Ages of any other children in the home
Your phone number
Any other needs you may have. We will try and take care of as much as we are able to for you.

Providing this information ahead of time will allow us to have enough items ready for a quick grab and go since our time is limited. It is also needed for our records.

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you Saturday! 🐝
