🌳 Happy Parks & Recreation Month!

This month, we're celebrating the City of Mission Parks & Recreation Department and the incredible work they do to keep our community active, connected, and beautiful.

From maintaining 25 city parks, 2 public pools, and the Mission Hike & Bike Trails to offering recreation programs and community events, their impact is felt across Mission every day.

Thank you to the entire Parks & Recreation team for helping create the spaces and experiences that make our community thrive. 💚

For 118 years, the City of Mission has continued to grow through the people, partnerships, and shared commitment that shape our community.

It was a pleasure for to attend the 2026 State of the City Address hosted by Mayor Norie Gonzalez Garza and hear about the progress being made across our city while reflecting on the journey that brought us here.

Every cleanup, tree planting, beautification project, and volunteer effort becomes part of Mission's story. As our city continues to grow, we're grateful to be alongside a community that takes pride in keeping it beautiful.

When a community comes together, great things happen. 💚

Our Spring Community Round-Up was a huge success thanks to the residents who took the time to properly dispose of unwanted items and help keep Mission clean.

Together, we collected 935 tires and more than 41.25 tons of bulky waste, keeping these materials out of our neighborhoods and helping protect our environment.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to our dedicated City crews who made this event possible. Every cleanup makes a difference, and together we're building a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful Mission.

The next generation of environmental leaders is already making an impact in Mission.

Congratulations to Mission High School students Joseph Soto, Jesus Berrones, and Abraham Piz for earning 1st Place in the High School Division at the MCISD Bright Minds Expo through the My Impact Community Challenge.

Their award-winning project focused on conservation, litter awareness, and the impact trash has on our community, showcasing how young leaders can create meaningful change through innovation and civic engagement.

Keep Mission Beautiful is proud to celebrate these outstanding students and thank Mission CISD, educators, and families for inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.

Together, we're building a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful Mission. 💚

Our 2026 Spring Community Round-Up was a huge success! ♻️✨

Bright and early Saturday morning, Mission residents came together to properly dispose of tires, bulky items, furniture, mattresses, water heaters, appliances, and more. Thanks to everyone who participated, we’re continuing to keep our community clean, safe, and beautiful.

A special thank you to the City of Mission Sanitation Department for their hard work and dedication in making this semi-annual event possible. Together, we’re making a difference, one clean-up at a time.
