Meritorious Promotion: On 3 September, Collin T. Fluke was promoted to Corporal in the Selected Marine Corps Reserves. Cpl Fluke as been on Active Duty Orders over the past two years. During this time, he has augmented and supported the staff by filling shortfalls within the communications section while supporting multiple high-level exercises. Achieving the rank of Corporal signifies a significant step in a Marine's development from a junior Marine to a leader. Often called the "backbone of the Marine Corps," corporals are responsible for the leadership, training, and discipline of junior enlisted Marines. Congratulations Cpl Fluke and job well done Marine.

Historical Significance: The blood stripe honors the sacrifices of Marine Officers and noncommissioned officers (NCOs) during the Battle of Chapultepec in 1847. Enlisted Marines receive their blood stripe upon promotion to the rank of Corporal, which marks their transition to an NCO. This scarlet red stripe on their dress blue trousers commemorates the courage of those Marines and symbolizes their honor and responsibility as leaders.

Veterans Day – Salute to Service Chiefs Game!

We were privileged to attend the Kansas City Chiefs Salute to Service game in November. The Marines raised over $30,000 in funds that will all go to purchase toys in support of the Marine Corps, Toys for Tots program. Huge thanks to Paul Chapa and the FISH (Friends in Service of Heroes) organization,
the Kansas City Chiefs, and all the folks that donated to help ensure our kids in the local KC area have a Merry Christmas!

Lenexa Police Department, USMC 249th Birthday Celebration.

Celebrating the Marine Corps 249th birthday with the Lenexa Police Department was a tremendous honor. It was great to see all the former Marines who continue to serve the community in a different uniform. We thank them for all their hard work, sacrifice, and for keeping us safe in our Kansas City neighborhood.

"Participating in the World War I Museum's Professional Military Education event greatly deepened my understanding of the war's wide-ranging effects on global geopolitics, social and cultural shifts, technological innovations, and military tactics. The experience highlighted how World War I not only shaped the course of history but also laid the groundwork for future conflicts. It was an invaluable learning opportunity that seamlessly connected the past with present day issues”.
