As I’ve already said, I am a Republican. But this is a great example of why so many Republicans are frustrated with the Union County GOP.

This page was removed from the group, but not until after we posted about the commissioners.

If someone doesn’t have rave reviews for all of your candidates, you censor their voice. We didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. It is a fact that Melissa finished last in the primary and Brian finished first. We pointed that out, and now we are banned.

This kind of gatekeeping is why so many people are unhappy with the Union County GOP and choosing to go unaffiliated.

Union County GOP, learn to handle differences of opinion about candidates. If you believe you are on the right side, you should be able to handle disagreement. Censoring peaceful disagreement goes against the very principles you claim to fight for.

You are welcome to have a different opinion than others BUT you are not welcome to do this! And you know exactly the words you used here.

This page will allow all different opinions but it will NOT allow these types of comments.

And for free I will offer you some advice to our Democratic Party followers the reason you lose unaffiliated conservatives is stuff JUST like Jose posted. Facts can be stated but attacks will turn away more than it will turn towards your goal.

Melissa Merrell- Republican
served on BOE and barely made the cut in the primary.

Brian Helms- Republican
top votes in primary seems to be the most liked Republican.

Sam Harris- Republican
Elected to Union county soil and water
doesn’t act like a politician at all.

Mrs. Anthony- Democratic Candidate I don’t know much about her outside of that. And she likes purple.

Mr. Dotson- Republican candidate I met once. He didn’t have much to say after he found out I lived outside the city. 🤷🏻‍♂️

As I stated earlier I do not live in the city of Monroe so I have no dog in this fight.

This seems the be the biggest fear spot of the election for both parties. Save is the comments about what USE to be. This is where we ARE!

I have an opinion that doesn’t really matter.

Either way if you are in the city in Monroe I hope you are registered to vote.
I hope you do your homework and speak to these candidates.
